David Beckham wants Sven Goran Eriksson to manage Real Madrid next year and what David Beckham wants he usually gets. I suspect Beckham wants him so he doesn't lose his place next season and Sven will be happy to accept because he'll have pretty much unlimited resources, some of the best players in the world and a very good salary.

Real Madrid might be top in terms of revenue but they've not been top in Spain since Beckham arrived and it doesn't surprise anyone. Well, nothing surprises me in football anymore and I wouldn't be surprised if we see Beckham and Sven buy Aston Villa.

It is rumoured Sven will be meeting the Real Madrid board this weekend to talk about the job and I have no doubt he'll accept the position if they meet his salary demands. Not football is it?
