Okay, the title isn't an accurate description of the match but a draw is a draw and I'm sure David O'Leary will point out, as he did before the match, Spurs are in a different league so Villa should be happy with a point.
Villa were fortunate that they played so well defensively because there wasn't a single shot on target for 90 minutes - something that wasn't going to be rectified when O'Leary brought off Luke Moore after a few minutes when Gareth Barry picked up his second yellow.
Man of the match for me is Luke Moore only because I think the way he was treated today was an absolute disgrace. If I were him tonight I'd be gutted and seriously considering what I was doing at Aston Villa under David O'Leary.
To think that Juan Pablo Angel is going to be more effective after running around like a headless chicken for 82 minutes than a Luke Moore who hasn't broken a sweat not only surprises me but also confirms that Aston Villa have the worst manager in the land.
Man of the match would have gone to Thomas Sorensen who made a few saves. Nothing you wouldn't expect from a Premiership keeper but we are so used to him dropping them that he can only be moving in the right direction. They also looked good.
David O'Leary will be happy with a point, I'm not! The point today has meant we've stayed in 15th place - simply not good enough for Aston Villa.
Spurs might be playing good football but that started after only a few weeks of having Martin Jol as manager, as it did with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Maybe it's time Doug Ellis appoints a firm to find a new manager as well as a new owner?
