I've seen this rumour on Sky Sports today and think it's rubbish.
David O'Leary has already said he won't risk what little money he has on players that haven't played Premier League football here or in their respective countries.
And a Sunderland reject is hardly going to set Villa Park alight.
He may have set Belle Vue alight against Villa, but I don't think he'll cope at Villa Park if he was released from a Championship team going up to the Premiership.
One for the rumour mill, which is where it should stay.
