Desperate times call for desperate measures

When Juan Pablo Angel scored the equaliser yesterday David O'Leary turned to face the directors box and gave his salute and punch in the air to Doug Ellis. The man is getting desperate and it's starting to leak through his usual slime free exterior.

It's not that Bolton are not a good team it's the general acceptance that this is a good result which makes my blood boil. Aston Villa are better than this.

Regardless of what anyone says about Aston Villa we have a great squad of players and a chairman who has backed his managers within the financial constraints the business has allowed.

This is David O'Leary's third season and we should be doing better - not languishing five places and points above the relegation zone.

Last week O'Leary spoke of getting 7 points from three matches. Well that statistic, which he was so proud to tell us about time and time again is now 5 points from a possible nine and next week it could be two points from a possible 9.

If O'Leary is going to use such statistics and use it for his benefit then he also has to accept those statistics 'big style' when they go against him.

I'd be really interested if somebody could send me a report on the match which has something positive to say about the way Aston Villa 'played football'. Please, if you have one, email kevin@astonvilla.biz with it.
