You've got to love Sir Alex

Manchester United crashed out of Europe last night coming bottom of their champions league group and lost 2-1 to Benfica but you've got to love what Sir Alex Ferguson had to say about his team.

Talking at the press conference after the match Ferguson said "I've got a job to do, it's a great job and I've confidence in my players." Wouldn't it be nice to hear David O'Leary say something like that!

Talking about the match he went on "We gave away possession far too easily so we only have ourselves to blame in that sense". Now, we don't want to spell out the obvious to David O'Leary but possession is quite important and if he was to talk confidently of his players maybe that would rub off. But it's maybe gone too far and is possibly beyond repair.

As for Manchester United, they can concentrate on the domestic side of things now. Probably not something their supporters want to hear but it's a positive and rather than moan about going out of Europe I suspect they'll be more focused on actually winning something this season - something as Villa fans we'd love to be in the position to worry about.
