I am now convinced that David O'Leary is Billy McNeil reincarnated. Both men were former centre halves with big reputations as managers when they arrived at VP - however I would regard them as two of the worst Villa managers in recent history.So many similarities - unable to motivate the team, disgruntled players, lack of tactics and direction, refusal to accept criticism and a longing to be at another club (O'Leary -Arsenal, McNeil - Celtic).
Deadly has made a big mistake going for O?Leary. How can a man who penned 'Leeds In Crisis' whilst still managing the club deserve another job in football? How on earth did Ellis think that a man who signed Duberry, Seth Johnson, Huckerby and a fat Robbie Fowler would do any better with Villas restricted budget? Throughout his reign he has shown no love for the club, declared the fans fickle and irritated all of us by his constant references to Leeds and Arsenal. Well Mr O'Leary it is time to buy yourself a season ticket for Highbury and get the follow up to 'Leeds In Crisis' into print. Resign now before you truly mirror Billy McBungle?s career and get this great club relegated. In the name of God, Allah, Zeus, Buddha, Odin GO, GO, GO! Dermot is originally from Handsworth but moved to Bromsgrove some 8 years ago. He is 39 years of age and has not felt this depressed about the Villa for 20 odd years.
