Genius O'Leary just misunderstood

David O'Leary told the official web site this morning "If we're going to go on a run or if we're going to go anywhere, we need to put a run together."

Read what he said again, slowly. We may have been a bit hard on O'Leary as it is now clear the man is a genius and we've just never understood the messages before.

He should get a gold star in stating the bloody obvious. He needs to get into that dressing room and teach the players how to do this. Not every footballer goes into management because most are actually quite dim. Not all of them but most are fairly stoopid.

The reason why they need to be taught 'how to do stuff' is because they forget about running into space, they forget about keeping the ball, they forget quite a lot of things.

In the ground breaking article the manger goes on to say "I was hoping it would happen after the Birmingham game and I'm hoping it happens after Charlton because after that we've got two hard away games in Newcastle and Bolton."

If it doesn't happen after Charlton are we really expected to accept the excuses and wait for it to happen. I'm actually starting to think we'll do better than the draw I predicted yesterday and we might win. But our first back to back victories for a year just isn't good enough and this is not just business it's football. We can't be forever giving chances to this man or we'll find ourselves relegated.

Team news for Charlton will follow later.
