Yawn: Huth again

The Daily Mirror are again reporting that 'Villa are keeping a close eye on the Chelsea defender' which is nice, but is he all he's cracked up to be.

We've not seen much of him but what I did see of him when Chelsea went out of the League Cup to Charlton was average. Let's not forget Chelsea went on a buying spree a couple of years ago and picked up young some dross - we experienced it ourselves first hand last season.

This rumour has sprouted up again after it was exclusively revealed by several newspapers that Roman Abramovich wants a clear out at Chelsea.

I'm not saying no to Huth, what I'm saying is let's not break the bank to get a player who has as much experience in the Premiership and only three weeks younger than Liam Ridgewell.

Ridgewell who is still only 21 has a few years of developing to go but already is showing he has the tenacity to make it in the Premiership and should be given the support inside the club he needs to further develop into what I believe could be one of the best central defenders in the country in five or six years time.
