I'm fed up of reading in the press and on the internet statements about Villa fans that do not represent my opinion or for that matter the majority.I'm happy with where Doug Ellis has taken us as a football club. He could do better with picking his managers but he'll soon come round to that.
Many people should look at clubs around us and look at what they have achieved in the past 20 years before slating our own Chairman. I was at the AGM last week because I am a shareholder of Aston Villa as well as supporter. Doug Ellis took stick that he didn't need to take and as a supporter I wasn't impressed. As a shareholder of Aston Villa I am more than happy with what he has done because I've made a considerably better return on my investment over the past five years than I would have got anywhere else. The AGM is a podium for shareholders to ask questions of Aston Villa and not a box for them to start moaning and bitching to one shareholder - good enough reason in my opinion for him to be a little annoyed and deflect most of the questions. Not one financial question was ducked by Ellis last week and they already stated at the beginning that no questions would be answered on any possible takeover. All these 'Villa fans ... ' statements do not represent my thoughts or opinions and I just want is said that for the most part not all Aston Villa fans go along with them. Would I welcome new owners is another question but for now leave Doug alone. Have any views on this? Email
