Aaron Hughes was in the paper yesterday saying he wouldn't play if he wasn't 100% but it appears today that Gavin McCann is going to be rushed back to play against Birmingham City this weekend.
Remember what happened when we rushed him back last time? I'm not Gavin Macs biggest fan but a lot of people do like him - what happens if he's forced back early and gets injured again - who is to blame?
My other big worry is Milan Baros. He's missed the last two Villa games with injury but we allow him to go off on international duty where it looks like he could have aggravated the injury and may now not be able to play this weekend.
I know these two games were massive for the Czech Republic but surely Villa were aware of the problem, he had missed two games for us and surely they were aware of what can happen if you bring a player back too early.
You can't blame Milan Baros for wanting to play for his country but he's not a Doctor and if a Doctor had told him this could make it worse surely he would have listened to the Doctor and stayed behind for treatment.
Aston Villa pay his wages and he is an Aston Villa player. This may all come to nothing and he may be fit and raring to go this weekend but what happens if he's out for another month ot two or three?
Lot's of ifs I know but we all knew he was injured and we all knew he needed rest and we all knew that two weeks without playing would have meant he was fit for this weekend and the injury properly healed.
What's your view - who should control when a player is fit to play and who should control if a player can be released for international duty - is it the player or the club?
