Aston Villa: Going going ...
Written by Damian

Speculation is mounting that Aston Villa will have new owners by the time they play Birmingham City on the 16th October.

The rumour mill is churning news out from Russia and America and there is even talk of Doug Ellis staying on.

The club have announced to the stock exchange that an initial approach was made but not that it has come to nothing so enquiries are likely to be ongoing.

Aston Villa's share price is currently trading at 467.00 pence a lot higher than it has been for most of the year and values the club at just under ?54mn. - still some way short of Doug's asking price which could be why the deal is taking some time but we believe it is happening.
