The Russian Villains

With all the talk of a Russian billionaire wanting to get his hands on Aston Villa we thought it a good idea to take a look at the likely candidates.

We've listed based on net worth not possible interest and who knows, it might not even be a Russian, it could be an American!

Number one on the list would be 40 year old Mikhail Khodorkovsky. With a net worth of $15.2 billion he's richer than Roman Abramovich by about $3 billion and he's a big sports fan. He owns the Russian oil giant Yukos and has written two books.

Second on the list, again from the Russian world of Oil is 47 year old Viktor Vekselberg with a net worth fortune of $5.9 billion. A lot less than Abramovich but still a fair chunk to throw at any Premiership club he waned to and he does like football.

Third on this list of possible Russian billionaires interested in Aston Villa is 39 year old 'party animal' Mikhail Prokhorov who lives in the Arctic Circle during the week and moves to the Frech Riviera for the weekend. Not much information on this man but he has a net worth of $5.4 billion and change.

Fourth is 40 year old Mikhail Fridman who owns Russia's largest private bank and has strong connections with the Kremlin. He has a net worth of $5.2 billion and isn't frightened of spending it.

Fifth on the list and one of the names to crop up quite a bit since Saturday is 36 year old, close friend of Roman Abramovich, Oleg Deripaska. A personal net worth fortune of $4.5 billion - he could be the one.

Sixth on the list is 48 year old Leonid Fedun who is currently the vice president of Lukoil, another Russian oil company but he is a massive football fan and with a net worth of $1.7 billion he could be the man although his boss Vagit Alekperov, president of Lukoil could also be interested.

Last on the list is 41 year old David Davidovich. A very close friend of Roman Abramovich and he actually works for him as Managing Director of Millhouse Capital. He has a net worth of $1.3 billion and for this he's added to the list.
