Many will know I've never rated McCann. I fail to see what he offers a team who want to play, as David O'Leary says 'a high tempo game'.
Whenever McCann gets the ball he either plays it back or square. Rarely does he look to make the pass that could create something and his positional play is awful.
Many put his poor form down down to the injury he has last season - I put it down to him just not up to the standard we need at Villa Park.
Atleast with Hendrie we've got a player that will look to play a through ball and I don't believe we need someone that's going to 'get stuck in' in the middle of the park, I believe we need someone that is going to track back and hassle players not go diving about.
Let's play Davis and Hendrie in the middle this weekend with Berger and Milner on either wing - it could be exciting, or atleast 'high tempo'.
