Having only joined in December last year, our CEO - the man who helped Wembley's cost over-run by £75m - Michael Cunnah, has left the club.

He was replacement for Richard FitzGerald, who only joined a year earlier.

This probably doesn't bother the average footy fan, but I start to get concerned when we've gone through 2 CEO's in a year and a half.

It indicates something in the upper echelons of Villa Park just isn't quite right, considering the money he's probably earning.

I'll leave speculation to someone else, but I thought I'd point this out during Damian's absence. Hopefully, once the hangover has worn off, he can elaborate with his thoughts on the matter.

In defence of Luke, he might not have had the specific title of CEO, but it was generally recognised wihtin the club that he was the top man .. at the club. I'm on holiday today but got a call about this thismorning and the guy that told me even used teh words 'the Villa CEO has quit'. My point is, there is no CEO or Managing Director (which may very well be breaking a cfew regulations, but that is something else) listed on teh club site and it was generally accepted that Lerner was running the club from New York and Cunnah was his man at the club. I think this is either because, as Damian says, Lerner is the man in charge and he just wants someone in the country on a permanent basis to 'do his will', or he's been fired over not getting a good enough shirt sponsor for next season and the club are trying not to burn bridges - making a kind statement instead. I don't think it breaks any regulations as we're not listed as a PLC on the stock exchange any more - I think you just need 1 director and 1 secretary for a private, limited company. It is a bit concerning, but I'm sure things will settle down eventually and I'd rather read this sort of news than the kind of news the average Liverpool fan has to read about their board.
