Give me Robbo over Carson any day of the week..

Robbo's natural goalkeeping ability is not in question, its his confidence and decision making. With some good coaching and MON building his confidence back up, he will go back to his days as englands number 1, where people couldn't speak highly enough of him.

I agree with you Luke i do not rate either keeper and believe if MON looks further afield he will find a keeper that will vastly improve the team.

i think you should look at why robbo is being allowed to leave - spurs are obviously lining up a world class keeper to take his place

I wish just for once it was us going for the world class players rather than letting our rivals get them and then clean up the scraps

i wouldnt mind robbo, hes alot cheaper that carson and more experience, he does have great goalkeeping quality he wouldnt of been england number one if he hadnt but his confidence is knocked, mon has a great reputation of getting players with low confidence and building them into quality players, i think mon would get him back to his best when he was england number one and i think it could be a great signing.

I would prefer Robinson to Carson. I used to be a big fan of his, but recently his form has been a little hit and miss. However, even this season, when he has played, he has shown signs of brilliance, world class saves. I have not once said that about Carson this season. Before the England nightmare he was average at best. However, i would still prefer a foreign keeper. The Egnlish ones always seem prone to mistakes (more than usual)

Difficult one, think I would prefer Carson if they were both priced equally, but If Robbo is half the price of Carson I would go for him, as he is definitely not half the player!

We should get Jussi or Carlo Cudicini. Players who've proved themselves to be quality year in year out in the Premier League. Casron or Robinson could prove themselves, but its too big a risk to see if a keeper can come good after underperforming for the last year. I have never fully rated Robinson, even when he was taking the plaudits earlier in his career

Paul Robinson is a class keeper, people get on goalkeepers backs when they have a rough run, look at David "flapper" james. He was ragged for a few seasons and now any team in the league would love to have him, keepers get better with age and it's a big confidence position that MON could give him. I'd be very happy with Paul Robinson…

I woul like to think that we have a goolkeeper in place for he start of ext season who isn't strule with their confidence. That is why we need we should not be looking at Robinson or Carson as our number one next Aug. looks like bouma has been eating too many 'bergers'. on the keeper front, id rather hav carson as he has more potential then robbo. but jussi, that would be tops.

even if robinson wasn't having a crisis of confidence he's too beatable from long range whereas carson is an excellent shot stopper he can also be prone to letting screamers in(as well as weak backheels) maybe new scenery would do robbo good? maybe carson will be more relaxed under contract? and although jussi and carlo are very good keepers they're just a bit too old for my liking.

I think we should do the loan thing for a keeper again, meaning Ben Foster he should jump at the hance coz it doesnt look as if he'll get number one at old trafford in the next couple seasons!!! I think we should leave taylor as our number two though he's ot that bad!

Am a Spurs fan and would be disappointed if Robbo left WHL. He's an excellent keeper and potentially will be back to his best and Englands number 1 next season. There's numerous reasons for his poor form: 1. We've had no goalkeeping coach this season 2. He's had numerous CB pairings in front of him this year, the worst being Kaboul/Dawson Ledley Kings injury was a huge loss 3. We never replaced Carick, there's a big hole in front of our back 4, JJ is attacking, Zokora goes missing and THudd is just too slow. This is why he is being beaten from long range so often.
His decision making for crosses and set pieces has admittedly been suspect,but hopefully this will be rectified with our new GK coach. Stay or go Robbos a top pro and should he regain form will be a force once again. PS. We have about 10 other duds like Routledge if you're interested!!! :P

I can't believe people on here actually think Paul Robinson is sh*t.

He has natural ability, and was playing very well up until a season maybe a season and a half ago.

He is a young keeper who lost his confidence, much the same way as Carson did when he made a mistake playing for his country. Goalkeepers are easy targets for blame, and a single mistake by them can cost you a game, but on the flip a single save by the can make you Eurpean Champions (ala Van De Sar).

I think with the right coaching and some words of encouragement from MoN Paul Robinson could once again be the best in the country.

I would think that if we haven't put in a bid for Cudicii or Jääskeläinen (thanks for the spelling lesson Tommy) we have let a fantastic opportunity go begging. MON took Carson on a season loan because he knew that GK's were not being made available last year. Now there are - we should be going all out for them. MON is no mug, therefore I think we shall have a pleasant surprise in a week or two. Bouma smokescreen anyone?

Just thought I'd throw another name in the hat as a potential new keeper . NEIL ALEXANDER of Rangers, he looks quality and is considered there number two . Dont know if they would sell but still worth a shout I think .

people are saying that you need a good keeper to challenge at the top end of the table, tottenham finished fifth last year and were in the running for fourth until the last day of the season a few years back. don't write him off, i'd have him over carson any day, at least robinson speaks.

listen people have got 2 stop over rating players just because pundits on sky and bbc say such a such is brilliant - it only happens because they are english! crson is average. the idea that robbo has been good before this season is laughable. the truth is england havent ever replaced seaman and there hasnt been any1 else. james has been tried and failed. stop beleiving these guys are good - robbo was CONSTANTLY BEATEN OFF HIS LINE at leeds!
the same goes for rio - vidic bails him out constantly, and when he is out, rio gets a niggle - 2 cover his arse when he is found out.

Trust me i live in scotland and watch a few rangers games and Neil Alexander is Carson number 2! I'd prefer there first choice keep McGreggor he's much more solid and commanding. Next Keeper we'll be linked with will be peterborough's after he was called up to the england squad.

So you want players from thin air ? because every player comes from somewhere else. It's funny you say about Reo-Coker & Harewood but i bet you cheered the goals harewood scored or set-up ? and i bet you also applauded Reo-Coker stopping an opposition attack with his tackling and the goals he set-up ? Or did you each time that happened did you say i wish we never signed them ?. Final thing name me two players better than Reo-Coker & Harewood for the same prices, that we could have got last season and still finished 6th.
