i wish he could come to us coz i believe he would be worth every penny gabby and delfounso could learn a massive amount from this guy plus he will score never mind 20 he would score around 30 goals a season even if only for 2 seasons and he will attract big names too but i am dtreaming |

Diego and Henry are still a bit out of Villa's league at the moment. We can bid for them, but intertoto is not enough to attract world class stars away from the champions league. |

Cant see him coming, he didnt have a good season, but the last 6 weeks, he's been starting and scoring for Barca. Plus Rijkaard has now gone so he'll do another season with the new manager Guardiola... Gudjohnsen would be a good signing, he's a clever player and can also finish. No spring chicken but I think he's class... Im still dreaming of Quaresma and/or van der vaart |

Henry's home is at Arsenal I just don't see him coming to Villa Park in anything but a Red shirt. I agree anything is possible but this just seems far fetched. |

I think we should go for it. It makes me chuckle that the same people who slam moves for Hoyte/Sidwell because they aren't 'world class' laugh at moves for Henry because he is world class......!!!!!! |

I'm not sure he's the player he was, but still accept that he's class. It'll never happen because it would involve totally destroying the wage structure. What would he want to come?, I'm guessing £150,000 a week minimum  Then again, imagine how many fickle Arsenal fans would move over to Villa if he did come. It would be great for shirt sales. It's nice to dream I suppose  |

Henry is only 30. He's got 5 seasons left in him. Henrik Larrson only just retired at 36 and he was a World-beater, what's different with Henry? He's an incredibly intelligent striker, he may lose his pace slightly, but his technical ability will never leave him. |

Assuming my quess of £150k is realistic, you have to bear in mind that our top paid player is GB on, what, £42k? Simple choice here to me, is one player on £150k or 3 players on £50k? No contest, IMO and that is much more likely the route MON/RL will take. That will do me, as you're looking at decent quality players. |

i think Henry would take a pay cut, knowing his age and that his is not at his best. also you plus the media attention, publicity, world wide acknowledgements, and the added ability to attract other players would be worth it alone. Shirt sales and Merchandise would go through the roof. still don't think he'd wanna live in Brum though. just a hunch. |

Henry would be an absolutely amazing signing and anyone who thinks otherwise I'd question their sanity. At 30 years old, with a good 3-5 years left for the greatest player in the premierships history. If Villa/MoN/Randy want to make a statement of intent - well they will never have a better opportunity. Sure there is a huge possibility even probability that Henry would simply not want to play for Villa - either prove himself in Spain or go back to the gunners are his likely thoughts. However, what do Villa have to lose by making a bid? Say MoN comes out and says he has bid for Henry, even if it is rejected, it makes a huge statement of intent and shows our ambition and the type of players that we are looking to attract. |

That's a very reasonable offer, Damian. If Villa could get him in, then yes. Don't care what he costs, he oozes class, obviously, and with the pace in the side, I don't think age should be a concern. Too much quality to write him off, and certainly more assured than anyone else at Villa Park. The real upside is that his signature would probably pave the way for other top-class players to join him. It's getting that first one in the door. |

If we are going to be pushing for Champions League over the next few seasons, we need someone of Henry's quality in the side. He still has 4-6 seasons left in him, he's a proven goal-scorer in England, and once he's regained some form i can't see any reason why he wouldn't get 20-25 goals a season. I definitely wouldn't say 'no' to him signing - i think it would be brilliant - but i don't think we'll get him. The only was he will be seen in Villa Park would be in an Arsenal shirt. Wages would probably too high, and O'Neill is a star-maker, not a star-buyer. It wouldn't be his style... |

Has Carew played with him before at any club? I dont think he has so what would his words mean to Henry? I dont think Arsenal will want him back because to be effective the team has to be built around him. He isnt doing so well in Spain because he isnt the main striker and Barca have loads of attacking threats. Id love him at Villa but he will never come, Barca would want at least £16Mn and Henry himself would want massive wages. Also if we had a bid accepted it will alert alot of other clubs like Spurs, Liverpool ect who would offer him those massive wages. If he does come back to England I can see it being with Liverpool. I dont think he would go to another London team and Man U I doubt would want him. I think Henry and Torres would be pretty good together and I can personally see it happening. |

I realise that we might be out of our depth with this one but no harm in trying and like somebody said above it would at least send out a statement. What bugs me though is that if this story was about Tottenham looking to sign Henry, or if they were looking to sign Diego, people would probably think there was some possibility. Are we not a big club? I think so. We may not have Europe to offer this year, but with Henry Diego and a few other additions, you can bet your ass we would be next year. Like many others I won't wont be holding my breath on this one but it's not impossible. |

I just can't see it. I agree with the comments that we should be looking at players like him, but there is no way he'll come to Villa. Like some i'd doubt we'd meet his wage demands, plus I just think he'd look at the Villa and go - nice enough team, but just can't play it well enough on the floor for my liking. I can't see Henry sniffing around in the box for knockdowns from big JC.....ain't gonna happen i'm afraid. |

I was all excited and actually believed we had a chance of signing Sneidjer last year, and where did he go? Madrid, like we ever had a prayer? Get the right players now and then next Summer or the 1 after we can start linking these kind of players more realistically. Barry said to keep him we have to make our intentions clear- come on MON start making some positive signings now so we don't have to replace Barry and not wait till he's gone and the last day before the end of the transfer deadline |

Henry is a class act, there is no reason to why he wouldn't come to Villa, we have been put down as the up and coming team of the prem. I think he is a class act but for the money we would have to pay for him and wages on top I suggest going for the likes of Theo Walcott (an Henry in the making). His speed alone compliments what we have already got for attack, he would also know the likes of Gabby, Young and Reo coker through England 21. I believe this is what would bring the likes of David Bentley to Villa. A young team that will grow togther not only for Villa but for England. I think if Theo had a full season on the pitch that his Champions League goal against Pool would just be another wiz kid goal we would be used to seeing all season. Most important Keep Barry. He still has 2 years on his contract, so keep him, thats football, after he hears the fans singing his name again next season and looks around to his his new squad, I'm sure he would think Liver................who. |

Lets put things into perspective: Villa finished in 6th position this season. If we are truly an ambitious club, we need to look to improve on that next season, and i dont think 4th is an unrealistic target if we make the right signings. Obviously, there are multiple areas in which we need to invest, but keeper, RB and right wing spring to mind. As for Henry, i agree that signing him would be every villa fan's dream, but it is rather unlikely. However, we certainly should be bidding on these kind of players - after all, if we want to finish in the top 4, then we need to be buying the kind of players that the top 4 teams would buy! |

This is very optimistic but im sure 99.9% of villa fans would agree this would be a great signing.Villa need a 20 goals a season man if they want to reach up to europe and, although Henry is getting on a bit he still has the pace and skill to achieve this.Im not sure of the kind of fee Barcelona would like to see but I would be happy with around £8-12 million.I would not pay any more because of his age.Although he still has the ability, he is goin to lose some pace a stamina in the next couple of years.I have heard he is unhappy playing were he is (left wing),but still wants to do his best for Barcelona.I am not sure that this is enough of a hint to say he will defianetly leave and he did say arsenal is the only club he would go back to. |
