I was thinking about this one myself,he would be good while Brad Guzan settles in,he is still a quality keeperjust a bit mad!!! |

Don't have to even think twice about Lehman! Get him! He is in my opinion better than almunia who can't even break into the spanish squad. But Lehman, he's a current international keeper, 1st choice for Germany, and heading to the Euro 08 competitions. His professionalism is second to none, although he bickers about almunia -(I never prefer him anyway)- which is quite acceptable if you consider his passion and intense desire to play. And he hates losing! Arsene Wenger was nuts to have dropped him for almunia. |

Lehman is a great keeper BUT we've had one keeper this season moaning about not getting enough games and attempting to undermine the manager, do we want to sign a keeper who has been doing exactly the same at another club?! |

Hi, as an ardent fan. Mad Jens is absolute brilliant goalkeeper.! He would be a terrific signing! He is without doubt the best goalkeeper in the Premier League ( technically). If you watch him warm up at half time- his kicking left foot and right foot is better than most players. The only problem is he is a nutter! Great fun , great professional, winner! I like him so much- i will be cheering on the Villa next season! mr.t |

I'd be up for him coming to Villa. He might only play a season or two, but he would give us some much needed experience at the back. He could organise and give confidence to the back four. It could be a masterstroke. |

Lehmann is class, commands his box and has bags of premiership experience. Look at David James this season, goal keepers get better with age and I for one would happily welcome Lehmann. He's a nutter but a damn good keeper… |

Slighltly off-topic, but... Brad Guzan has been struggling for form since the new MLS season started - he let in 5 goals against Beckham's LA side, including one howler (you can see video highlights from http://chivas.usa.mlsnet.com/s...?team=t120). That made it 11 goals conceded in 3 games. Having said that, his side Chivas kept a clean sheet in their most recent game and Guzan was man of the match. It sounds like he was initially struggling with the pressure of being targeted by European clubs so I'm not convinced he'll cope with the pressure of the Premiership each week. |

6th gets europe now cus england won the fair play league so which ever team is top of the league gets europe if not already got it. Tottenham are top foolowed by liverpool, arsenal, man utd so all those have europe already so it goes to 6th place in the premiership! pack your suitcases were all going on a european tour (providing we beat the hammers sunday or blackburn dont better our result)!! up the villa! |

How many 'keeprs do we need? We've got Taylor, who is probably as good as Carson at the moment, and may improve quicker than Carson over the next few years. We could do with a first choice 'keeper - either Carson or someone else, Lehman fits that bill perfectly. So, Lehman/Taylor or Carson/Taylor or Taylor/Guzan. We've also been linked with Juicy Jars (the Bolt On 'keeper), Cudicini and others. Perhaps we're showing interest for anyone who owns an over sized pair of gloves just to pull down the price of Carson. Whatever is going to happen it will most likely be what MoN wants, this window will see our team take the shape required for a big push onwards. Trust in MoN. We won't need the extra UEFA place - we're going to do it our way, 5th outright qualification or 6th via Intertonto. UTV! |

i agree Woodinho, those criteria are totally subjective... but i think you'll find it's uefa's rules, not our FA - much as i hate to defend our FA. as for the other comments... the fair play award is just that, an award to give teams an incentive for fair play. not much incentive if the european spot is given to the team with most goals now is it?? |

I wud go for Lehman, a good stop gap until we get another good keeper. I was worried about Carson because he's slow/reluctant to come off his line, not a very good reader of the game when the opposition is looking for the thru ball. After seeing Defoe's goal, deflected Wigan goal I now know why he doesn't come off his line. I dont think he'll improve in this area, that dropped catch he had at Goodision also worried me. That Mexico keeper at the last World Cup, looked handy, dunno his name/who he plays for- mind you Sorensen was awesome at Euro 2004 so cant always go on tournaments. |
