Yes, I am making a big thing about Mellberg leaving, but he really has had a wonderful career at Villa and it is going to be his last time wearing claret and blue at Villa Park. I also know he's a favourite to a lot of people, so I'm milking the moment.
Also, seeing as he's agreed to answer some of our questions and is a big fan of the site, we want to make it a big day for him, which is why you've got this flag you can download and display, if you've not arranged anything else.
Anyway, it's a little more important than just Olof Mellberg Day, we can wrap up European football for next season this weekend and on a more sombre note, there will be a minutes silence for Christopher Priest, who died after the Blues match.
Moving on and to the match. This has three points written all over it for me and I'm putting money on a home win. I just can't see Wigan bringing anything that we've not already dealt with and I really can see this been another goal-fest.
The Everton match last week confirmed for me that we seem to have kicked on a little, as in, we dealt with them at every level and looked like we could have done it for another ninety minutes.
I'm not sure if that's because other teams are struggling and we seem to be reaping the rewards of the mid-season break, or because of the new training facility and new methods employed. It could also be none of that, but scoring 15 goals in the three matches before Everton was no fluke.
If we'd one one game 6-0 you could put that down to having a good day and them having a bad one, but three matches and fifteen goals shows we're doing something right and it could all happen again this weekend. If it does, I'm going to go gooey with the possibilities.
We should also not forget Wigan and just assume this is going to be the easiest three points since we took three of Blues. They've got a manager, while tactically inept, will get his players to run and run for 95 minutes and that dogged determination, reminiscent of Sloth fighting his own family on One-Eyed Willie's ship in The Goonies, could be damaging.
However, I don't think they'll come out and offer much of a threat, so I'm predicting three points.
Also, and it's an 'also if' because this is only going to happen 'if' we have another bonanza day, but if we do, I'm going to get carried away with the prospects of next season.
However, I'll not be disappointed with a scrappy 1-0 either, nor surprised, because the most vital thing now is the three points and we might just see Martin O'Neill take a more conservative approach to this match so his mission is accomplished.
So, to make it official, my prediction is a win and three points and a fantastic day for friend of the show Olof Mellberg.
