Google recognise St George's Day and we will be playing European football next season

On this very day last year I wrote about Google not displaying one of their holiday logo's for St George's day and the chance of European football for the following season.

Today, exactly one year later, I'm writing about the same things. This year Google.co.uk are displaying a holiday logo and we're also not having to rely on The Right Result to get into Europe.

Only some really bad luck or some poor football can stop us playing European football next season now. I truly believe we can beat Everton this weekend and I really don't think we'll drop many points against Wigan on Olof Mellberg Day or West Ham.

Incidentally, you can download an A4 Swedish flag for the Wigan match here with the message 'thanks for the memories' in Swedish for the last home game of the season.

Anyway, back to European football and I don't know about anyone else, but I can taste it. We're three points ahead of Manchester City and you've got to fancy Portsmouth will win the FA Cup so even if we don't finish in 5th place, we've still got the back door option of the Intertoto.

Also, I don't think Pompey have applied, so even if they don't win the FA Cup, we should get it because we should be the highest place finishers who have applied. Not bad for season two, is it?

That's it from me today. It's St George's Day, so I'm taking it off, because even though it's not a national holiday, it should be and while I'm at it, if you think it should be too, visit this website and sign the petition to make it a national holiday.

Pompey didn't apply fyi. 7th will see us play semi-Euro footy at least providing we don't lose to west ham and lose the other two. Correct me if I'm wrong.
