Sometimes I read a title on a website that winds me up enough I don't click on it because I know I'm going to have an opinion and know I'm going to write something.
Yesterday I saw something that the muppet wrote but didn't read it. I have today and I'm baffled.
Basically Bill Howell has titled his article Aston Villa set to spend to break the big four and nowhere in it does Martin O'Neill mention anything about the money he is going to spend.
Now, Bill is making up the title to quite literally get those clicks from his homepage, but at the same time people are going to soon figure out that he's a hack, if they haven't already.
I could change the title of this post to Aston Villa sign Ronaldinho on loan just to get the clicks but it has nothing to do with it. Bill has made up the title of his and you've got to wonder why.
You've got to wonder why then start to question why Zat Knight is talking about new players all of a sudden and European football next season.
We're all playing for our positions next season. The manager has spoken about bringing in players because he wants to be playing in Europe and that can mean 50 or 55 games a season. We're not going to do that with the size of the squad we have now and so I'm sure there'll be players coming in. That means we've got to impress now for next season. When the manager does bring in new players I have to aim to still be ahead of them.
Now, I like Zat, but this was published on the official site. Is it now the job of the official site to make our players look stupid?
His first statement wound me up. Did he expect a holiday camp when he came to Aston Villa? Then we've got him dropping in the phrases 'players coming in' and 'playing in Europe'.
We were promised last season that we'd have top class signings and nothing happened. That happened just before season tickets went on sale; is the muppet on the payroll and are the club going to line up all the players and drop lines in like 'I'm sure there'll be players coming in' over the next few weeks now?
The most worrying part of all this though is the last statement, Zat Knight aims to be ahead of the new players 'when' they come in. So expect some 'top class' signings.
General Krulak is a big fan of telling everyone that actions speak louder than words. Well, the words are like water off a ducks back now; we've heard them time and time again. It's really time for these actions.
