Former Aston Villa CEO Richard FitzGerald is now working for Manchester City FC.

The job title is 'Consultant to Chairman' and the role is a short term project focusing on international branding and marketing.

We're all aware of his skill set in developing brands and his focus while at IMG was new media so I have no doubt he'll do well and seeing as it is a short term project, we'll probably see Mr FitzGerald doing more work in football if this is successful.

Anyway, we will wish him luck and maybe one day someone will write a book and we'll find out the reason why he left Aston Villa, but until then I expect everyone will stay silent on the subject.

I ask this because if you look at how many games are on a staurday comperd to 10 years ago you will see a big big diffrence. For me there is only one place to blame and thats sky sports because they choose most of the dates for games so they can show it on sky sports. Im sick to death with us not haveing many games now on a saturday i would even start a petition if i new it would work.

the general said on villa talk that randy was being the CEO, and that it was a non issue, as he managed to CEO the browns from NY so could do the same with villa. Reading between the lines, Fitzgerald left as he was being marginalised by Randy assuming CEO role?

IanB how do you know what skills Randy Lerner has? To date his tenure at Villa has been assured. The only time we will find out what he is made of is when things are not running so smoothly. The Fitzgerald departure is the only blot so far and I doubt we will ever hear the reason. I for one make no assumptions about Mr Lerner other than to observe he has made a very good start.
