If someone had offered you a 1-1 result before kick off, you would have bitten their hand off. I won't say you didn't deserve a point because you executed a perfect away performance but we pressed and pressed and pressed and I don't think you can say we didn't deserve at least a point ourselves. If we weren't so clueless and toothless, we would've taken all 3 points with the possession we had. I think it's clear to see that we're not going to win the title now. Good luck with your challenge for 4th. |

in all fairness, though i think Clattenburg is a s**tty* piece of referee (*- see Liverpool v Villa @ anfield, appalling reffing.) and though he didnt have a great game, i was watching it and didnt notice much of the ref which is a good sign. 3 minutes is about average for most games, and considering the subs made in the second half, by the laws of the game 3 mins was about right and Arsenal scored with 2.57 mins on the clock in injury time. It was annoying that they scored but the ref wasnt at fault for the result this time. I can take some solace in the fact that i would have begged to take a draw away from arsenal considering our remaining fixture list. So although annoying, im pretty chuffed for the result. Well done boys! |

I'm deflated, but we still got a point at the Emirates. That's 6 points from 7 games against the top 4 this season - not bad going. As for the injury time - that's football. There were lots of subs, Osbourne was booked for time wasting etc. I'm not completely surprised. Sometimes those things go for you and sometimes they go against you. It was always going to be tough to hang on to a 1-0 lead and it's a shame we couldn't keep them out for another 2 seconds. Still, all in all it's a good result and can only give us confidence when we play Man U at Old Trafford. |

the 3 minutes must have came from all the fouls on arsenal because as of yesturday arsenal are the team that are fouled the most i'm happy with a draw against arsenal, fair enough it should have been 3 points but these things happen in football, i cant see this knocking our confidence. if anything it will improve it, because we now know we can out play one of the best teams in the world, and the defending in the second half was amazing. in my opinion 4th place has left us and is between everton and liverpool and i don't even think everton stand much of a chance because with liverpool being liverpool i can't see them not getting it, especially with 2 games in hand. but if everton mess up and we beat them 5th place could be ours |

"Villa were clearly the better side on the chances created," Steve Costigan on Fox. You can pass the ball around all you like, but in the decisive areas, Arsenal had no real answer. No one's going to argue we have the stronger side, but given the clean sheet through 92:58, Villa have a right to feel a bit aggrieved to not collect all three points. We were better on the day. Composed enough to deal with what Arsenal offered, threatening enough to obviously force errors, good saves. The announcers said there were 3 minutes, it seems that 4 may have been shown at the stadium. So, that doesn't seem much of an issue, just the breaks. Villa simply need to learn to play a bit more keep-away further down the pitch. We never really looked all that bothered, it wasn't desperate defending, the announcers kept pointing out how solid Villa's back four were, better than Arsenal's. I thought this was the most relaxed and confident I've seen Villa away to one of the big four. They intended to take the game to Arsenal and did. Villa weren't just playing for the draw, so well done, boys. Terrible about Davies. Good luck to you, Curtis, on your recovery. |

| Just got back from the Emirates and although I don't post very often I felt I had to tonight. Today I was ashamed to be a Villa fan for the first time in my 35 years as a fan. Why? Well because of a section of the Villa fans who thought it would be great fun to sing about Eduardo's sickening injury the week before. An injury that could happen to any player of any team (yes even ours) any week. The mindless morons that joined in not only shamed our club but also helped to incense the Arsenal fans, who had previously been anonimous, into rallying behind their team, which subsequently put our own team under pressure. Despite these chants it was good to see the Arsenal fans applauding Curtis Davis off the field when he suffered his injury. If only we had shown them the same respect! To those who sang ask yourself this question how would you have felt if had been your player who was subject of this type of chanting? To the Arsenal fans who have come on this site to complain I can only apologise. |

Obviously gutted in a way ... but before the game you'd take it! Keep the faith - it's easy to say fourth place is out the question but you never know ... we've got United to play once and apart from that it's teams either below us or in the hunt for Europe so it could still happen .... Everton have still got to play Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea, and with their UEFA Cup games, players will be rested if they keep progressing. Liverpool who can be pushed to the edge as we proved, have got to play Man Utd and Arsenal. And like Everton, will have important European games. Man City (who looked crap against Wigan) have got to play Chelsea and Liverpool. Blackburn have Liverpool and United to play and are inconsistent. So all in all we still have a chance particularly if we batlle like we did today! A point at the Emirates, a team that have only lost there once, they're top of the league, consistently do well in Europe and we lose key playerss early on. Not bad really! UP THE VILLA! |

To those c***s who sang about Eduardo like that, I ask: How would you have felt if away fans had sung like that about Luc Nillis after his injury? T**ts. They don't deserve to see the club and I hope they get found out and banned for life. I missed the first half, but someone here said that Arsenal fans applauded Curtis Davies off when he got his injury. If that's the case, then thank you. *phew* Still gutted about the result though. We really did ourselves proud today and deserved the victory. What an effort and it really is typical bad luck of the Villa to concede way into stoppage time that shouldn;t even have been added on in the first place. |

I was impressed with the fact the the 2 forced subs didn't affect the balance or the tactics of the team. We still played with the same gameplan and it worked. I can see now that MON has the team playing the way he wants and I like it. Special praise for Carew, he did a great job playing out of position later in the game. The reason we didn't win is because Arsenal didn't panic, kept to their gameplan and had the bit of luck you need. Of the games I've seen this season that was the best Villa performance. |

There had been many visiting teams outside the Big 4, coming over to the Emirates who played well and said to themselves they will fear no one after coming away with a draw or, rarely, a win. It makes me feel proud that Arsenal is the benchmark for many teams outside of the 4. But as I agree with a Villa fan that we don't know your team and O'Neil's 5-year plan thingy, you guys do not know our team too. True we have been praised as the most beautiful team in Europe but we are humans too. And, in truth, Villa played us when we are still jaded from last weeks traumatizing game and I would say if I was the opposition its a good time to play the Gunners. Its simple. Villa played their best game of the season when Arsenal played one of their worst. If Arsenal had played like they did against Milan (how many Villa fans watched that match?), I have no doubt Villa fans would NOT be saying "their team now fear no one!".. Most of our players were really below par considering what they could really do to the opposition. But in all honesty, Villa really did play well and O'Neil is a top manager & doing a good job at your club. Good luck for the rest of the season, Villa! Wish us success too in reclaiming the League title from Man U.. *fingers X* |

F**k the fans who sang at Eduardo. Villa had a good day out, Arsenal may be a benchmark for our future performances but it's the run in that counts. If we finish 7th, no Europe unless we win our Inter-toto game. I can see that happening, Everton and Liverpool are stronger at the minute but I have the utmost faith in MON signing some key players in the Summer. It's all about staying on top of City and Pompey. If we can beat them down and Blackburn implode like always we're set for a good end to the season. That being said, 7th and a crack at Europe would be a fantastic way to end the season considering. |

The lads were class today, every single one of them. The 2nd goal would have killed Arsenal off but you knew with the 4 mins extra time and a succession of corners that something had to give. You could say Carson was at fault, but to be honest you could say that any goal is a keepers fault, a stab from 6 yards out can beat the best keeper in the world. Great to see Marlon's spirit, the fans love him and he really injects so fuel for that last 20 mins. I think any one of us would have taken a point before this game, we should have won it, but the performance and the confidence of that team is something to be pleased about. A few acquisitions post season and we'll be class act, I just hope that Petrov does not get back in that midfield because we are a far better team without him. Nice to see that most of the Arsenal fans that have posted on this site have the decency to leave constructive comments, bar that statement calling us idiots. I like most people on this board do not condone the behavior of our fans, no class. You'd expect that kind of behavior from blues fans and if you were one of those muppets singing maybe you should consider a season ticket at St Andrews next season, this club does not need twats like you. |

Maybe I am basing my facts on reports in the media of how MON said that it was the best performance of the season for Villa so it's true i might be ignorant, i apologize if I don't know much about Villa.. But to call me and most of us gooners arrogant is not respectful and I've tried to be respectful in your blog as in other rival's blog. Arsenal did play very well at home against Milan so I don't know what your philosophy of good football is - maybe fast wingers who can cross well and the strikers who receives it put it in the back of the net is fantastic to you? I called it 5-year thingy not as a disrespect but to tell people that I do not know what the details of the plan was, NOT as a disrespect or arrogance. If you feel that way, I respect that about you as you are just a passionate Villa supporter who, like any group of rival fans, only gets personal and call others c*&ts. As I've said, I like getting into constructive dialogue with like-minded rival fans but your comments doesn't seem to fit in anywhere with what I was trying to say. Chealsea at home, liverpool away, newcastle at home, birmingham away, chelsea away are just off the top of my head that were equally, if not probably better performances. To give yourself the luxury of thinking that villa raised their game only because it was "arsenal at the emirates" is just not true. I understand that maybe being top of the premiership gives you that luxury, and perhaps being in the last 16 of the Champions league gives you the right to overlook the teams lower than fourth in the premiership, and then again perhaps all of those things mean that I'm just jealous Good luck for the rest of the season, Out of anybody i'd rather arsenal be champions both of england and europe.
