Moore set to join West Brom

Luke Moore is undergoing a medical at Championship side West Brom and will likely join them on loan until the end of the season.

After the loan deal he is set to make the move permanent in a £3.5mn. deal in the summer.

Moore had so much promise but he's clearly not looked that interested since Martin O'Neill took over and this move is probably going to be very good for him.

Moore has scored twice this season, against Wrexham in the Carling Cup and Bolton away - not a bad return from someone who has only played three full games all season.

Do you actually watch the Villa Damien? If you did you would know that he has actually started 9 games this season and appeared as a sub in a further 9. He played most of the games when Carew was injured and as I recall started in teh 2-0 win against Chelsea!

Carew got injured earlier on in the season ... and it presented a chance to either Moore or Harewood to come in and show what they are about.

Moore got the nod and seemed uninterested, lacked passion and commitment not only for the club but for his own personal career.

Arrogant waste of space, who thinks he is alot better than he is... i've seen him in town often with his body guards thinkin he is all that ... when really he is just an Albion type player lol.

Cya Luke ... Harewood, Carew, Gabby and Maloney .. i think they'll do!!!

Do you actually read anything before jumping in with two feet?

What actually did I write above? I think you'll find that I wrote he has played 3 full games - absolutely nothing about how many he has started.

If it was a 1,000 word post with loads of statistics I could understand why you might say something - but it's hardly War & Peace above.

And to say 'Do you actually watch the Villa Damien?' - is a joke - you are a muppet Peter, if thats the best you can come up with and get it wrong at the same time. A muppet.

3.5M - back of the net. He has had loads of chances and consistently proved that he simply is not good enough. The 'Marlon' has earned his chance and proved everyone wrong (except MoN of course)

Since when has anyone looked at games completed when assessing a scoring record? Its about games started NOT completed.

About time, how many games sub or start has moore played & how many goals has he put away, none? pre season.

So we might get 5 mil for him. with his loan and then his fee.
It means we only have to pay 4 or 5 mil for DAVIES, when i have seen C.D he has played really sharp at the back, made couple mistakes but i like him, all in all another bit of good business.

lets just hope west brom dont come up next season, cause if they do i've got that funny feelin he mite score against us....how many times that happened b4.

we all were slagging off harewood when he came (dont lie) but now we all like him, strange i no but he plays with determination, moore does not

I aint gonna miss u luke, hit the road watseman

cant belive we are getting 3.5m for him, Peter do you need a hand reading this complex article?Haha!!Cant belive he only played 3 full games seems more, he is overrated and im happy he is gone still cant believe 3.5m thats great, means davies is only costing us around 6m which is a good deal.

Not the point Peter.

You come on here having a pop at me, asking if I ever watch the Villa - not because I got it wrong - but because I got it spot on and YOU got it wrong.

My statement was 100% accurate and regardless of how you do things - today, this is how I do things.

Good luck to Luke, him and his brother were good servants of the club. The Chelsea goals and youth cup were good memories. He'll add some AV class to the Baggies along with King Kev. Martin is clearly looking to add quality for serious Euro contention and by my reckoning if we are selling players like Luke we can look forward to some serious strikers coming in.

hey damian... it's a shame moore didn't get subbed in the 89th minute of those "three full games" he played...

...then he'd have 2 goals from ZERO full games this season and that would be an amazing return right?? smilies/grin.gif

seriously though, his goal to game ratio is poor. his attitude is poor. his second touch is a tackle. 3.5 million??? sold!!!

I read that we have the option to call him back from his loan spell at any point which is clever of MON as he is covering his bases as if a few of our strikers get injured we will need him.

I think this deal could be good for both parties, We will get some money and free up a space for another striker. And dropping down a league may make Luke Moore pull his finger out. The Baggies if they dont bottle it will make it into the PL and Moore could be very key to them for the rest of this season and the next. I expect he will like being a big fish in a small pond. He was all happy at Villa when he was the "wonder kid" who we were all talking about, his attitude changed when our team started to improve greatly and other young players started to emerge.

I think he will do well there, but I would have prefered if MON had arranged a deal where we could have £4Mn/£5Mn of Davis's price tag. He still might be able to do this you never know, but still £3.5Mn for him we cant complain.

Just another example of MON priority being attitude 1st.

Some people during the Transfer Windup were calling for MON to sign players with similar attitude as LM.

Wouldn't use them in my school team. Wear the shirt, do the work, come on Marlon.

PS OK computer novice time, how do you get things underlined etc on this? I click and get wierd messages.

This is my source: "The move is with a view to a permanent £3.5m deal in the summer, though the Premier League side will be able to recall Moore during the loan period."

I know other clubs have used this option in the past and think its a good thing for MON to do, although this is off BBC sport so it could be wrong it wouldnt be the first time today they made a mistake.

About time we got rid of some of the garbage in the team , let Petrov follow please. Moore has been painful to watch this season, no sharpness and his touch in front of goal is abysmal, good business 3.5 mil

He has scored some crutial goals for us that got us points and apart from this season, has been a great player. This season however is a different story. A new club may give his the kick up the ass he needs, and it is the championship now luke.

All the best for the future though.

Also to ... the_flabster ... watched an interview with MON on AVTV and he said if anything happens e.g. injuries .. we can re-call luke moore up to 28 days into the loan.

then if we don't re-call him within that time, tough.
