Aston Villa news in less time than it would take to boil a Cadbury Cream Egg

Straight to West Brom wanting Luke Moore. We've not had it denied by the club yet which means no firm offer is actually on the table but representatives have probably met - I say let him go.

Something has happened to Moore and I'm not sure what it is - he just doesn't look interested and appears to be going the same road as his brother - still he's probably a millionaire already so we shouldn't feel sorry for him.

In other news, the players are off on a mid-season break to recharge, much like they did last season.

Gareth Barry told the club website "We have some young players who are playing their second consecutive busy season and they need a rest." Those gruelling eighteen hour days must be taking it out of them and only getting a few days holiday in the summer clearly isn't enough for them. This is a well deserved break.

Yes, I'm having a laugh at their expense because it's blarney, but if it has the same effect as last season I'll be more than happy with them doing it every season as it would mean European football next season at Villa Park.

Nigel Reo-Coker is a little unhappy at all the play acting in the Premier League and has spoken out about it recently. I remember doing the same thing nine years ago and while it's not a nice side of the game, it's hardly new.

It's very much part of the game now, however I do think referees not blowing for so much of it this season and they're letting the game flow a little better this season - but that could be just my imagination.

Also, Martin O'Neill has also confirmed what we've all known for a while and that is that Petrov isn't up to it at the moment. He's put it down to him playing out of position and confidence.

If it is just those two things then we all know what has to happen and based on how Young and Maloney played against Newcastle, I suspect it will for the next match against Reading.

Lastly, out of favour keeper Thomas Sorensen looks set to join Barnsley on loan. I know I've said a lot of not nice things about his ability as a goalkeeper in my time and I'd just like to take this opportunity to say, I stand by every single one of them. Cheerio Thomas.

That's it, I'm off to slurp up my egg, if I've missed anything feel free to add it below.

Has Olly really lost interest, or is he just a little p*ssed off with Stan?

Villa_Rules, UEFA most likely, but nice if we got Chumps League! I'd not be against entering Inter Tonto Egg Cup just in case we don't qualify.

Damian, does your local have one of those big jars of pickled eggs? Ever tried pickling Creme Eggs? What sort of vinegar would one use? I'm off to experiment, probably use Maltesers for practice though.

Yeah a Champs League finish would be excellent, but I'm not sure it will happen this season, despite yesterdays good performance. I can see us making a UEFA Cup spot, I'm just hoping our performances don't drop.

As for Luke Moore, I wouldn't mind him leaving and he probably will. I suppose nobody is really that happy if they aren't getting played every week, even if they aren't good enough , which I don't think he is.

I thought Luke Moore and Sorenson were about to leave in January for Rangers and QPR respectively but the reports I read were obviously wrong.
However, I believe that both players are not in MON's plans and are sure to go in the summer with Mellberg and maybe Berger joining them.
We have surely got to be in for a transfer bonanza at VP this summer? I know only too well how disappointing the last few January's and summers have been but i think we may have plenty to talk about on here during the close season.
I can't wait !!!

By the way, the team for the Reading game must be:
Carson
Gardner, Davies, Laursen, Bouma
Young, NRC, Barry, Maloney
Harewood, Carew

Put Gabby on the bench for a rest but bring him on in the second half for either Carew or Marlon if needed.
Promote Routledge to the bench also so as we can have a look at him if Maloney has an off game. I heard he scored a beauty for the reserves the other day. Give him the right wing and switch Ashley back to the left if necessary.
Other subs, Taylor (should be starting cos Carson isn't really much better IMO, send him back to Pool, save £10 million and buy the Yank in the summer), Mellberg for defensive cover and Isiah Osbourne in case anything happens to NRC or Barry.
What do you reckon ? Drop Stan cos' at the moment he's a fookin' liability, Gabby needs a rest and ideas.

I dont understand why Luke Moore and Sorensen are still with us. Derby offered us money for Sorensen why didnt we accept? Rangers offered us money for Moore (although less than valuation) why didnt we accept? It would have been around 3mil total, Portsmouth wanted Berger (yet another player who hardly makes the subs bench) could have sold him too, that together with the initial fee we recieved for Cahill could have bought in someone decent or more to the point would have raised funds to complete the Nelson signing....Instead we have three players who arent even used as subs and none of them will be here next year........

probly a stupid question but is Agbonlahor fit again? Has he gone on this trip to spain?

Getting rid of Sorensen is a shame but we've got 2 other great and younger goalkeepers and Luke Moore will raise us a bit of cash for other positions where reinforcements are much needed.
up the VILLA!
