Send the thug Joey Barton back to jail
Written by Damian

I have no problem using the word thug when it comes to Joey Barton and I'd challenge anyone to tell me I'm wrong.

He's out on bail for assault, beat up a team mate when at Manchester City, broke a 35-year-old pedestrian's leg while driving his car through Liverpool and his brother is serving a 17 year prison sentence. Are all of these just an unlucky coincidence?

They're not, he's a thug. The only reason he isn't inside right now, crying himself to sleep at night in fear of what is going to happen to him the next day, is because he can afford a very good lawyer to get him off.

Well, yesterday he took a swing at Shaun Maloney which ended up with the Villa player on the ground. I'm no judge but that could be breaking his bail conditions and it could see him going back to Liverpool to spend a bit more time behind bars.

None of us know Joey Barton, but we all know his type and if his type ends up inside as someones play thing, then he is only getting what he deserves.

Chrisodon writes "He's a tosser i was hoping Reo-coker would give him some grief like he did to Taylor, Butt & Carr." Typical hypocrisy from ignorant fans. So Barton's a thug and yet Reo-Coker isn't. If anyone saw the incident they would have seen that Barton was reacting to the foul being committed on him by Maloney. How Reo-Coker was never sent off is beyond me. The referee certainly was a homer.

Do I smell sour grapes Toony? Reo-Coker didn't deck anyone and then punch clear a goalbound shot inside 3 seconds...

Toony i think it's time you take off the black & white glasses. The ref was always blowing in newcastle's favor all game which makes you think bartons been practicing on blowing that ref for when he gets locked up. The sheer fact you're defending a guy that took a clear swipe at maloney makes you a mug with s**t team s**t manager & a future prison bum boy in prison for a player or ex-player after he splits up with the ref.

Made me laugh barton's motd interview a couple of months ago crying crocodile tears and how he is misunderstood and a product of his environment and he will change, forward a couple of months and he is just as bad. If he's that tough you make yourself become a better person and be strong enough to follow through with what you say. When somebody like that is paid his wages and allowed to continue playing when like it or not he is a role model to newcastle youngsteres the world is very wrong. Mind you look at the proposed plans for matches abroad, money talks and is all that is important. That is why I get so negative. But come on reading and let us have another 3 points, cause as I'm writing this Man City are beating Man Utd, bloody Benjani

OK I agree he is a thug and not a very nice person anybody can see that but damian I think it is unfair to use his brothers crime against him. He has stated in many interviews that he did no have contact with his brother from the age of 14/15 and has agreed that what he did was wrong and deserves to rot in a prison cell. i agree with everything else you said though.

How it wasnt at least penalty is beyond me he should have been sent off.

Oh well Maloney isnt injured because of it and it didnt change the game and he should get charged by the F.A. but he probably wont. He will get what is coming to him dont worry.

Yes i agree sometime ago now i even emailed sky sports and said he is a disgrae to the game and is a bad example to young kids playing the game today it never got red out tho as i might have expected lol

But defeintly i agree send him back to jail with his brother and let him rott in there total and utter disgrace.

Id love to be a player for one game against him cause id snap his legs clean in half and if that didnt work id drop the nut on him in the 1st minute wish someone like reo coker or stevie g would do it to him

What has shocked me the most about this is that he has the opportunity to turn it around and start again but he repeatedly messes it up. I thought the challenge on Young was disgraceful and the twat could of broken his leg. If he had of done then Barton would be finished but because he had a lucky escape..he will just move onto the next game...and the next player.

I am from Liverpool and you do hear alot of stuff about the Barton family...especially Joey. He has been in more trouble than the papers know about but to me it really is a tradgedy. Barton better be careful or he wind up in the same bracket with that absolute horror of a human being that is....Lee Bowyer.

Keegan-w****r?

This one has got me interested. Only explanation I can think for calling him such is that he fails to accept his own capabalities. Once was honest, to keep applying for jobs you cannot do and then repeatedly quitting when it gets tough could well put you in the w****r bracket.

That said he's only really a w****r to the fans of the club he is at. He's more an fuzzy haired little clown for the rest of us.

Here's looking forward to that mid April press conference.

I wrote a post in the previous thread after Match of the Day on Saturday night and I called Barton a thug several times.
I woke this morning to find Damian's main thread and I'm not surprised to see the feedback it has had.
I was a little worried when I went to bed on Saturday night that i'd gone a little over the top in my critisism of Barton...but i needn't have been.
It seems a lot of you can see the thug he really is and even the nationals picked up on his assault on Shaun Maloney.
There is a you tube video floating about of a quite lengthy interview with Gabby Logan where Barton tries to play down his image and make himself out to be a nice bloke. Only trouble is, he doesn't stop talking about himself the whole time, even when asked about his brother's involvement in a Liverpool murder of a young black lad, he side stepped questions about this and his own criminal convictions with talk of how he always knew he was special and different from all the others!

The bloke is really something else and if you get time to hunt the you tube videos down, please have a look...and shed a tear for this and the next generation.
He seems to string "er". "erm", "eerrm" and "you know" together really well but can't seem to put a sentence together without then talking about himself.
One of life's unfortunate people, and Aston Villa and Shaun Maloney are his latest victims. Fair play to Maloney for being a man and standing up to the vicious prat.
I read a post on another internet site earlier from someone who had had the "dubious opportunity" via his job to have viewed the actual CCTV tape of Barton's most recent alleged assualt on two Liverpool nightclubbers.
Apparently, Barton approaches the two men, punches one of them to the ground and chases after the other. He succeeds in putting his second victim down before going back to the first (who is still on the floor) and punching him another three times.
Nice bloke isn't he and how is he still earnig thousands a week after committing a crime like this, especially when it's suposed to be caught on CCTV ?!!. Don't know how true the story is as I only read it but it sounds about right for him. Any takers ?

Newcastle's Barton escapes FA ban

Barton joined Newcastle for £5.8m last July
Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton will not have any action taken against him following an incident involving Aston Villa's Shaun Maloney on Saturday.
It was alleged that Barton took a swing at the Scottish forward during his side's 4-1 defeat at Villa Park.

But after studying video evidence, the Football Association has cleared the 25-year-old of any wrongdoing.

Barton only recently returned to action having spent a week in prison after being charged with assault and affray.
