Gabby off to United and Wes Brown coming to Villa Park
Written by Damian

A few weeks ago it was Arsene Wenger who was about to put in a £15mn. bid for Gabby Agbonlahor and today someone in Australia has linked him to Manchester United for the exact same fee.

Now, I don't want to suggest that this is just looking at rumours from three weeks ago and changing the team, but this is someone looking at rumours from a few weeks ago and changing team names.

You might think that that is exactly what I've done, but this site is a blog and we're linking to all the stories, we're not a news site, as the site above claim to be.

This load of crap rumour is worth nothing. Don't even give it any consideration. It was created very much in the exact same way I'm starting the next rumour; Wes Brown is coming to Aston Villa.

It's a rubbish rumour, completely made up on the back of something someone said to me and something I read. Apparently Wes Brown has turned down the last contract offer from United and Martin O'Neill has shown interest in him for the right back position.

Of course, if the above is true, it means our story about Bosingwa isn't, which would be quite embarrassing, but we're still a little confident of him coming next summer.

brown is a very good player. i don't know what game you have been watching over the last few years. anyone getting in the united will be comfortable on the ball which is what we desperatly need. it was brown who was constantly bailing rio out when he was having a torrid time a few years ago.

another rumour in the news of the world (sigh!) states that we are favourites to buy giles barnes. obviously he has been injured for much of this season but he is 19, highly rated and right sided which is exactly what we need. if he can turn out to be another certain player bought from a releagated club, then we will all be pleased. that right sided needs strengthening with an out and out winger because i really think we have become one dimensional with young on the left and we got found out against a portsmouth side with strength and power and awareness to pack out our left side.

@ Anthony: Amen to that. Although, id rather Bosingwa than Brown. But either is better than our current situation. Asamoah Gyan as a striker too. Lets get serious about the top 6 buy a full squad MON, otherwise we will cancel out a solid start.........

ent going nowhere the rumour is martin o'neil is going in 20 mil for ronaldinho and giles barnes is definately in january. defoe is also on everyones mind as he still hasnt signed a new contract and i believe he would be excellent for villa!
also shaun maloney might be heading off home back to celtic ! this would be a bad move as he has good potential. and finally according to martin o'neil obafami martins might be on his way !!!!!

I don't want brown any were near our fine establishment.
Hinze would have been ok but brown, never! A washed up ManU player is not the way to go from here..

I don't know about this Barnes fella but I still can't get over the fact that there's no talk of James Milner coming to the villa. He's not playing regularly, he would come to us and he is a fantastic young english player. Judging by our signings so far I would have thought he fitted the bill more than any other player. I still have a feeling that we could possibly go for him but I don't know if MON cares enough about him.

Avis, you've got it all wrong. Heinze was the washed up United player and has left, whereas Brown is currently in their first choice side.

Mr Magoo, I beg to differ. he is their second choice after Nevile and they only let him play because there is no one else AND he is a home grown player. Heinze is in Real Madrid now a days, I don't think they would have touched Brown even with pliers.
but this is just my opinion..

I've seen Brown play at right-back and centre-back for United and he isn't bad at all. Sure he wouldn't be in Fergie's starting line-up, but unless you cash out mega bucks you aren't going to take any one of them eleven players.

The fact that Ferguson offered him a new contract shows he is good enough to stay there, even if only for back-up. But for one of the best managers in the game to say he is fit to stay at probably the best team in the league (after Villa obviously).. that has got to say something.

As for Agbonlahor, I don't want to see him leave but if he were to go then I want a healthy sum and a better replacement than Giles Barnes. West Ham showed a lot of interest in him before he got injured but that seems to have cooled down now - presumably they have seen him turn out some average performances at Derby.
