The Doc's Diagnosis: Now we'll find out if we really are any good

Sometimes, there is some great poetry about the Premier League.

Never more than now. Villa have won four in a row, three of those away from home. And the "for and against" till is showing a healthy balance.

The Somersetvillan hasn't been seen on these pages for months, presumably because he can't find enough to whine about. Even Taglor's smiling at the moment, as Marlon banged the last goal in just for him at Ewood.

But are we any good?

The silent poetry of the Premier League pits us against Arsenal at the very time we are starting to believe in ourselves. So the Premier League is asking the big question of O'Neill and Villa: are you really that good, or are you all mouth and no trousers?

Arsenal deserve their position at the top of English football. They are led by one of the few individuals in this country's game with any sort of vision, and they play sublime football. The way they pass and move is at once breathtaking and frightening.

Can Villa contain them? Can Villa beat them?

We'll see later this evening. But make no mistake, my praise of Villa's players for their superb display at Ewood Park will look like nothing less than a flash in the pan if they come up short today.

It's time now for the boys to stand up tall. We are looking for a performance which will set the media talking, the press alight and the fans on fire.

And you know what? I think they'll do it.

Up The Villa!!!

Hopefully! It's about time we start gettin back 2 somewhere were we, this great club, should be. We beat chelsea...but 9 years is too long for a club of our stature to go without a win over arsenal! Lets get behind the team and this is a masive test for us lets show those arrogant cockney's what the villa can do!

I bloody hope so, we're no where near as good as Arsenal, but we can give them a good run for their money. And where better but at Villa Park. Come on Lads, scream as loud as you do when we're away, and maybe even louder!

I'll be there with you.

I want to believe, I really really do. We've been brilliant in the last few weeks, but I just think this test is just going to be too big for us. smilies/angry.gif

Almost kick-off. I'm looking for a good result from Villa. I think they're capable if they learn how to play these sorts of games. I hope they don't get mesmerized and just get stuck in.

Brave is the best word to describe our second half performance, so unlucky not to get a equiliser and even a winner. Carew was magnificent strong, skillful bags of determination. apart from our game against Utd we have challenged the so called big four this year and it is about bloody time! at least we did'nt get hammered and we can take plenty of positives from that game, also the villa faithful were in excellent voice tonight never stopped and showed wonderful support!

UTV!

Same not to get a point but overall I think the performance bodes very well for the rest season. I was very impressed with young but a bit sad to see him diving.
