| Petrov will come good, give him time to get used to playing with Reo. I think he can be just as influential as Maloney in the future. |

For this game I would like to see Barry at LB. I say play Maloney and Petrov! Carsen Gardner Melberg Laursen Barry Gabby Petrov Rio-Coker Maloney Young Carew or Moore |

| Damian i have yet to see Petrov have a good game. He is flat footed & in my opinion should be got rid of PDQ. He is simply not good enough. Craig Gardener should be in the middle with Coker/Maloney with Barry on the left young on the right. Or even Maloney on the left with Barry & Coker in the Middle. Then there is Burger. Petrov is way down my list. |

If Petrov isn't good at the end of the season then lets judge. O'Neill can't get it all right in one season so how can Petrov. He will hit form. However we should use Maloney more in up and coming games, however i would prefer we rotate to keep them all on their toes. |

Howard so are we going to go to January without a Right back. If that's the case MON will be in for some serious stick. |

| Petrov is a decent player but way out of his depth. He lacks tackling ability and quick thinking needing an age to make a pass. He also seems to lack confidence. He constantly marks space and its like playing with 10 men. What does he actually do? |

Jinsky Thats my team based on the players we have at the moment. Gardner has done well for Villa at RB last season (were you at Spurs away game?) and 3 games this year. I agree 100% we need a RB. Who would I like? Dream world Philpp Lahm but it wont happen. Hope to see MON bring in Boswinga but its looking unlikely. Perhaps the idea of bringing in Knight is to give extra cover in Centre Defence and if Gardner is injured or loses form Melberg will play RB. Its not ideal situation. I hope MON has a plan!! |

I think Petrov doesn't have the attitude to hack the failure in the Premiership. He seems to lose interest when things don't go well and lost his head before he gave away the free-kick that Gerrard scored in our opening game. I don't think he will make it but I'd love to be proved wrong. |

im sorry for this but wen i saw the rumours saying we will sign petrov it reminded me wen i used to play as celtic in fifa 05 wen petrov would score left, right and centre and he used to do so at celtic in real life. I think that MON needs to see this and give him a talk and a redt on the chelsea game. With shaun moloney on fire i think petrov has got a fight on his hands which last season he didnt have. But i do hope he finds his form and i shall enjoy watchin villa hopefully get into europe!! |

Petrov is class, against west ham (away) last year was one of the best performances from a villa player i had seen for years, if he can find this sort of form again he will be top top class. One thing i have noticed is that he is sitting back and not getting nearly enough of the ball in advanced areas of the pitch and when he does have a shooting oppertunity it looks like he is feeling the presure a bit of being our only real goal scoring midfielder from open play(trying to live up to his rep). But i think with maloney and young the presure would be off becouse both players like to shoot from distance. Carson Gardener Melberg Laursen Barry Young Petrov Reo-Coker Maloney Carew Moore Bench-Taylor,Knight,Berger,Agbonlahor,Harewood |

| Petrov isnt good enough. He has had 12months and had one good game. Time to cut our losses and get rid. Its like playing with 10 men with him in the side. |

| have had to watch petrov week in week out. we don't need to sign any more players and there shouldn't be any more talk of players returning north as i have also recently been to ibrox to watch rangers with a season ticket holder their that had previously told me what a class act de la cruz was. i propose we apply to join the SPL: silverware every year and easy route into euraope |

-----------------Carew----------------- Gabby----------------------------Young ----------Barry--------Petrov -----------------Reo------------------ Bouma-----Laursen---Mellberg----Gardner ---------------Carson------------------ Maloney and Moore super subs, changing to a 4,4,2 half time with Moore on for Carew because of his fitness partnering Gabby up front with Maloney on for Petrov playing left with Barry and Reo on in the centre lol....Worth a try. |

I agree, I don't think Petrov deserves so much stick. I think he's trying, and who knows, MON may very well be asking him to hang back. The Gerrard free kick wasn't his fault at all. Watching the game, I thought it was a good play, couldn't believe the whistle after all the fouls Liverpool had been let off for. I do think he'll come good. He's got international and CL experience. He hasn't set the PL on fire, by any means, I agree, but I think MON believes in him, and I'll go out on a limb here and say MON knows more about football than I. Personally, I'd like to see Maloney on instead of Gabby. Let Agbonlahor watch the game, it'll be good for him, and Maloney is more seasoned anyway, as well as being on form. |

I also don't think that MON is the sort of manager to stubbornly stick with mistakes. He showed class admitting he was wrong and apologizing to the official in the Fulham incident, so it's not like he's afraid of admitting mistakes. I believe that MON knows what Petrov is capable of and is simply sticking by him, giving him a chance to find his form. It might be a mistake, but it's the kind of mistake that respects players. Rather than yank them around, he's saying, "If I think you're the player, I'll give you the time to come good." Sends the right message. That's part of being a good man manager. |

Moore Young, Agbonlahor Barry, Reo-Coker, Maloney, Bouma, Laurson, Cahill, Mellberg Carson Can't question Gardners workrate and passion, but he seems to find himself out of position too quickly. Moore and Maloney have to start, Moore did brilliant pre-season and has looked a lot livelier than carew when brought on. petrov needs to know he has to perform to stay in the team, hes not just going to play however lazy he is. |

| I dont think it helps starting Petrov every game. Maybe if he was to sit on the bench for a few games he may wake up and get his arse in gear. However i think MON wants to play him because hes spent so much money on him and doesnt want it to seem like a waste. |

| It would have to be Petrov for me since Maloney and him both play attacking midfield roles and Maloney isn't really a striker. Moore alongside Carew or Harewood. And i expect Knight to get a debut at right-back. |
