Sorensen does have a future at Villa and so does Daniel Guiza, apparently

I woke a few hours ago with a long list of things I had to do today. One included picking up all the broken glass that my lovely son and his four year old friend decided to remove from my old greenhouse at the end of the garden. Sod it I thought, I'd read the papers and drink coffee instead.

While reading the papers and a few websites I saw quite a few articles about Thomas Sorensen claiming that he's got a future at Villa Park. Poor lad; clearly with wealth comes delusion.

His future at Villa Park is purely as a number two. He thinks he had a decent season last year and to some extent I agree with him but it could be so much better; because of that I think we all know Martin O'Neill is looking for a new number one.

I think Sorensen would be a very good number two but as the number one for Denmark I suspect if a new keeper comes in he'll be looking for a 'new challenge'. I think he should go too, but like I said, with wealth comes delusion.

Anyway, we told you first about Bruno Alves and for those that maybe don't remember we told you first about Daniel Guiza also and it looks like this one hasn't been denied so is there some future in it?

For the record, it's not my greenhouse; it came with the house. I also wouldn't be that interested in Jussi Jääskeläinen. He's too old and we should be and I suspect Martin O'Neill is, looking for younger players.

Okay, back to the papers and maybe some more coffee.

Too old? He's 32 - keepers generally hit their prime at about 34. He's one of the best in the prem and will be around at the top of his game for another 6 or 7 years, he would be a fantastic signing

Sorensen is a first rate keeper but has been Villa's no.1 for so long he tends to get a bit complacent. MON is looking at strength in depth and Jussi from the Trotters would offer top quality experience and competition.

i think villa should go for the goalkeeper from celtic as he is young and very good not a 32 has been

I reckon as soon as the under 21 internationals have finnished, then we'll start seeing some action in the transfer market. i reckon reo-coker has already agreed a deal with us and will arrive after the u21 tornament. i deffinately want to see a new keeper at villa, along with a few quality signings in defence, midfield and certainly up front. a qaulity striker ithink is required to feed of carew, maybe bent or defoe

i think sorenen is a quality keeper, lets not forget we need goals to win a game, and if we lose him it would be a bad thing,im for getting a quality young keeper who will have time to come up through the ranks!

but that said it must be time for a signing i would say theres a lot of talk and no action but it appears that there is not even a lot of talk!

Martin Bar - do you know anything about football? A 32 year old keeper is at his best.

no i think sorenson has passed him time and we should sign a fresh younger keeper :)

I like Sorensen but i agree that he can be complacent and we need someone more reliable. I think getting Jussi would be good but not for £6M i think that would be abit too much perhaps closer to the £4M makr and it would be good.

Nothing wrong with sorensen we should not even think of letting him go he is a good keeper and would be horrible to see him line up as the number 1 keeper elsewher other than villa.

If i had read this post a month back i would have laughed it off the screen ,but as we havent signed a replacment yet maybe he has got a future at the club

I think Sorenson would benefit more from a compact back-line, bring in a more reliable right-back to stop that easy benefit for left-wingers against us and that could help him out. But yeah, he does get a bit complacent after a good run but that's nothing a few pointers from Kevin Mac or Eric Steele can't fix.
