Villa Shoppong List: Bellamy, Nugent and Koumas
Written by Kevin

According to the Sunday Mirror that is, which probably means it's all made up, but even if it was I'd really like to see David Nugent at Villa Park, despite having Carew, Gabby and Luke. Am I missing someone?

Koumas and Bellamy are very good players but I think we can get better and if we're serious about where we want to be there are certain risks we shouldn't be taking and there are certain players we should be going after. These two are not it for me.

It was said this week that the manager is going to meet with Randy Lerner about how much money he actually has to spend and I guess this meeting will determine what type of player we are going after.

Still, great win yesterday and none of this actually matters at the moment and rumour has it a keeper is top of the list and based on yesterday I wouldn't be surprised if that rumour was true.

i agree, i would like to have Nugent, but personally not interested in Bellamy or Koumas. we can gain much better players if we try hard enough. Villa always seem to be focused on buying players from the british isles, we need to buy some from abroad were there is more scope and depth of quality players, but not getting carried away were your team either becomes a spanish liverpool or a french arsenal, if you know what i mean.

Yes i know that Nugent has quality and i'd like him at Villa. We have 4 strikers (if Angel leaves) but why do we need 7 strikers too many. I'm not trying to be a bit of a buy this player or buy that player but i reckon we should buy players who have potential but aren't picked to play or always on the bench.

Yes, i know Bellamy can finish beautifully but know we have almost as much strikers then midfielders. And rumours i dont believe also say martin o'neill is very interested in keepers but we have 3 and 2 keepers in reserve team (if it is 1 keeper in reserve team we have 4) so i dont see why we need keepers that much.

I think we should go for Nugent, a goalkeeper in Boruc or Foster, but we need midfielders , Reo Coker and SWP, and finally a big commanding centre half

I thought that O'Neill wanted to sign 'Quality' world class signings. I'm sorry but none of these are that!!!

If we sign more strikers then you can bet Luke et al will want to leave. We need a couple of excellent world class midfielders and maybe a superb keeper. We also need another defender to cover. This is all nonsense.

I dont understand why we want nugent more than bellamy. Nugent is yet to proove himself or even play at premiership level - and a tap in against andorra doesn't change that. Bellamy has been a class act for years, and has bags of experience at both domestic and european level. We need this sort of quality. However, I agree about koumas - he's not the grade. In the summer I want wright-phillips, gordon, bellamy, sidwell and a good right back smilies/wink.gif

Seems like a bit of nonsense from the Mirror for me. I'd say the bigger priorities are a goalkeeper, a centre back and possibly another coupld of midfielders. After that we could see another striker come in, though Nugent would be a good purchase, perhaps MON will go back to Reading for Kevin Doyle?

I think our priority right now is to find a suitable RB. Bardsley and Hughes just aren't good enough.

Whats Bellamy going to bring to Villa?

An overrated player that gets transferred to club after club. Was pants at coventry city (urgh can't believe I mentioned there name). Was medicore at celtic. There was problems at Newcastle and blackburn, he has hardly made a massive impact with Liverpool.

Why would villa want a player like that?

watched villa quite abit this season and feel we need a worldclass player to play in mccanns position as i find him to average, he works hard but doesnt bring enough to the team and feel we need an essien sort of player in his position. need a paul mcgrath in the team to feel we conceed to many silly goals sometimes. quite impressed wiv carew but feel he needs a decent partner havnt had a decent striker at the club since dwight yorke, we should pull all the stops to get tevez wen west ham are relegated! hopefully hav a better season nxt year, UP THE VILLA

SWP not any good, please stop mentioning him. too see him at villa would make me sick. I personaly think we should go abroad for players to france, holland, spain or africa. holland for a striker, huntelaar maybe. france and spain for midfeilders ribery from france and silva and viana from valencia or silva from malaga and the african cup of nations would be a good place to look for an essian or makelele type player. but mon will know what he is doing in the summer and he will get it right. i have faith.

just read all these comments about bellamy etc, what a waste of time he is! we are now a quality club again, and dont need players like that idiot, sign him and we might as well go all the way sign savage & bowyer and get oleary back as director of football thank god randy knows enough about english football not to finance a dumb deal like that.
