Gareth Barry: Fourth best in the Premiership

I'm not entirely sure if this is new news or not but according to the latest statistics released by the lovely chaps over at actim, our very won Gareth Barry is the fourth best player in the Premiership.

To top off what has been a very good season for the player he is also ranked as the second best English player in the Premiership.

Okay, the figures are a little misleading for our Gareth as he's down as actim have him down as a defender and defenders score more points for goals scored than say midfielders or strikers, nevertheless he's still number four.

Other Aston Villa players in the top 100 are Gabriel Agbonlahor in 24th, Ashely Young in 59th, Olof Mellberg coming in at 62 and despite not playing for the best part of a month Liam Ridgewell is 95th.

Not a bad showing overall. Next season I'm hoping to see Petrov and Carew in the list, or who knows maybe even by the end of this season.

Great stuff - but don't hold your breath for Petrov.
