He's a player who can adapt to pretty much any position in the midfield and reports this morning suggest Aston Villa are after him.

Spurs look set to lose out on the fight to sign Watford youngster Ashley Young after it was confirmed that Watford have accepted an offer for the player and if these reports are true they could be losing a fans favourite also.

Tainio is a Finnish international who has played at Spurs since 2005, joining from French side Auxerre.

Considered injury prone he's apparently fit and ready to resume his playing career. Could Aston Villa be his next team?

I'm a spurs season ticket holder and I can assure you Taino is not a fans favourite. Where you got that from I don't know. He definately should not be in our starting line up yet consistently gets picked, Maybe this is due to injuries but I still don't think he's worthy. every week he is the obvious week link in our midfield. i read an article on skysports a few days ago where he stated he wanted to be the next Davids of the club (whatever that means) and was worried he was planning to stick around. This is good news. I'd accept anything over 75k

Tainio was a major part of what Spurs achieved last season. He is industrious, committed and good technically - he's a Martin O'Neill player. The drawback is he rarely plays three games together...if he's fit though you've got yourself a player

Spurs never achieve anything. For all the money and players they have they constantly win nothing and I can't see that changing. Why would Young want to go there and end up being loaned out to Fulham in a years time when he's not playing? Spurs are just trying to do a Chelsea and buy up all the young talent so no-one else can have them. No wonder the England team's getting ruined.
