Hendrie heading to Portsmouth?

Harry Redknapp is going to make a bid for Lee Hendrie in January if the speculation is believed. 'Arry has always liked Hendrie with his combative approach to the game and it looks like Hendrie will welcome the move.

Pretty boy Hendrie has played once for England, on the left side of midfield and although skipper Gareth Barry is unable to play this weekend as he's serving a ban it looks like Peter Whittingham is in with a shout instead of Hendrie.

It could all come down to the players chequered past and his reputation as the bad boy of Villa but surely he is match fit now and everyone should get a chance.

With Barry not able to play it seems like a logical decision to recall Hendrie to see what he can offer but if the rumours become reality Hendrie will be playing his football on the South Coast next year.

Cheers Lee, enjoy the rest of your career, but Villa have to move on without you. Franc Ribery, SWP, Simao Sambrossa ?????? Who knows ??????

It's a shame he will go as i feel he could still play a part in the Villa team but good luck to him and hope he doesnt do a Darius Vassell on us when we play them.

It does appear Hendries days at Villa are now numbered, Osbourne is being picked in preferance, as his loan spell to Stoke has been extended.
I think he'll be gone in January to whoever makes the best bid.
Portsmouth is a long way from Broad Street though isn't it?
