On the menu this morning: Markus Katzer and Lucas Neill

I'm saying 'on the menu this morning', because this afternoon it will be Keane or Defoe from Spurs and tonight I'll read somewhere that it will be Shaun Maloney from Celtic. I wonder if any of these rumours have any substance whatsoever?
I know what you're thinking. Who the hell is Markus Katzer? I'm sure someone out there will get some information from him or in fact may know something about him. I don't but I did find his homepage and can tell you that he'll be 27 next month and he seems to be a well liked player.
The other player mentioned today and someone I'd like to see is Blackburn's Lucas Neill. Neill joined Blackburn in 2001 from Millwall and Liverpool showed interest in him during the summer only for Blackburn to to block the move.
He's 28 years old and likes to get forward. He is a very good player and you never know, he might like to join a club moving in the right direction.
I may have failed to mention that these rumours came from the Mirror. Didn't want to mention that straight away in case you switched off.

you might get markus katzer but you wont get any of the othe players mentioned, at the moment youve punched above your weight but dont think you will be in the same league position at the end of the year, Lucas Neil will be looking to better himself by maybe joining a champions league team like liverpool, keane will never leave spurs end of story and you couldnt afford defoe even if he did fancy coming to your club which i seriously doubt. think your league position has gone to your head, try looking at players from watford or sheffield utd.
I can say with probably 110% certainty that Villa Donâ€t have a hope in hell of signing Keane or Defoe
Katzer plays for Rapid Vienna (where I live) and the team is bottom of the league. Katzer isnt even the best player in his team and well, in Austria where the standard is so poor, he can't be better than what Villa already have.
Who do these people think they are?? Do they not realise we are ASTON VILLA. One of the biggest clubs in this country. Have arguably the best manager in the Uk, no the world. We now have a Billionaire to back us up now, we have a big fan base & it's just going to get better. Who wouldn't want to come to the Villa??

i hope uz sign maloney because hes absolutely garbage, hes far too big for his boots n its just a matter of time before hes sittin on the bench at celtic with mcgeady in the team, therefore a hope uz sign another celtic reject along with agathe and sutton.
Hey Bog....I see you failed to mention which team you support!! Could you be a bluenose? in which case i really don't think you have any right to come on here and make judgements on our potential buys. Your only where you are cos Mr Wenger took pity on you and lent you some of his youngsters. Or could you be a Spurs fan? who think they have a god given right to play Champions League football. Most of my mates are spurs fans and i can't stand listening to there 'mightier than thou' attitude to their team. Rant over.
It was only a little while ago all us spurs fans were wishing villa well in getting rid of deadly and o'dreary, we're not so keen now you are being linked with all our players - never mind, personally i hope you continue to do well but preferably do so without any of our players! Still if you really are that keen on Defoe (your not having keane) I think a "Barry, Agbonglahore + Cash" offer should sweeten the deal!
