O'Neill to rectify another mistake made by the previous incumbent?

It's all rumour at the moment but the one doing the rounds this morning is that Martin O'Neill is interested in bringing back Boaz Myhill from Hull City.

The previous incumbent sold Myhill to Hull City in December 2003 for £50,000. It now looks like it will cost £1,500,000 to bring back the player who first joined Aston Villa at 12 years old.

Myhill is considered a huge talent and if the rumours that he wants to bring the player back to push Thomas Sorensen then O'Neill clearly doesn't think much of another signing by the previous incumbent, Stuart Taylor.

I'd like to see Myhill back at Villa even though I've never seen him play for the club. At the end of last season Myhill was the highest-ranked goalkeeper in FourFourTwo magazine's list of the top 50 Football League players.

Again, it's all rumour but a positive one. Up the Villa.

When you look at the number of players that were let go either because of the financial restraints by £llis, or because O'Leary didn't rate them, it makes you wonder how many would have gone on to make it with the right coaching at the club.
It's easy to destroy the confidence of a young player and condemn him to obscurity.
The present situation with Myhill adds weight to my theory, and now Villa will be paying a substantial fee to get him back, bad economics and management in the past are to blame.

Myhill obviously, but remember Stephen Cooke? he looked to have a big future ahead of him at Villa, what went wrong there?
Over the past couple of seasons quite a few young players tipped for the top have left also.
Not only the youngsters, another example would be Peter Crouch, but we're getting in to an entirely differant scenario there.
I can't see things like that happening with the new set up.
