I had a feeling we'd score three tonight, I just didn't think Leicester City would score two and we'd leave it until the last minute of extra time to finish them off.
By the sound of things Leicester keeper Paul Henderson was man of the match after making some fine saves and after deflecting a Gareth Barry penalty in the 90th minute. Barry scored the first penalty at the end of the first half to put Villa 2-1 up.
Angel scored the first after 5 minutes and Agbonlahor scored the winner with seconds remaining. It was a tense match, listening to it on the radio but one I'm glad we managed to win.
Villa gave a first team start to Isiah Osbourne who was replaced by Bouma in the 108th minute. I'm sure the manager will have learnt a lot from seeing get a proper run out in a proper match.
The first Leicester goal scorer was Richard Stearman. Rumour has it that Aston Villa sent someone to watch Stearman at the weekend and he could soon find his way to Villa Park if the manager had a favourable report and liked what he saw tonight.
All credit to Leicester City after tonight's performance but Aston Villa are finding it hard to beat teams at the moment and with Liverpool coming up this weekend it is quite possible our run could be coming to an end unless this is all part of a master plan.
Still, we've got a few days to think about Liverpool. Aston Villa are in the last 16 of the League Cup and I still believe we've got a good chance of going all the way in this tournament this season. Up the Villa.

Whilst i think it's clear we miss McCann's defensive work I think the weakest link in our back line is Hughes. Great squad player but we need a quality right back.
Just about winning against a team halfway down the championship table doesnot bode well! MoN is an excellent manager and i believe you will do well this season, but to be honest with a performance like that I'll be surprised if Villa win anything this time around!
Anyhow - Good Luck!
i agree that hughes looks suspect and that mccann is missed but last 3 matches in league have been a adraw and we struggled to beat leicester ... we need a quality midfielder and a quality striker
Miss McCann badly, not being in the engine room in games like that makes you appreciate how much we miss him. Great to see Bouma back and what an impact providing the cross that Gabby got on the end of. Hughes falling short definately, what a steal it would be nicking Lucas Neil from Blackburn and giving them Delaney!
