Steve Sidwell another one for January?

Everyone loves the Daily Mirror. Their intuitive news reporting, their never-before-heard transfer rumours and their in depth coverage of the real news as it happens.

It's all about Steve Sidwell, Aston Villa and Manchester City this morning.

Apparently the reliable news machine reckon Martin O'Neill and Stuart Pearce will be going in for young Steve Sidwell in January.

Sidwell has been instrumental in Reading's excellent opening to their debut top flight campaign, but would Steve Coppell be stupid enough to sell his star midfielder?

They've got money so I wouldn't have thought so, but if someone came in with ?4-5m then it might be enough.

I haven't seen enough of him to know if he's worth that much, but I'll be watching a bit more carefully now.

It's not the first time he's been linked with us, but we've changed managers and it may just be paper talk.

But if O'Neill was going in for him, I'd have 100% faith and back my manager on this one.
