I'm not happy with the draw but I'm happy with the point, do you understand what I mean? Aston Villa won the first half but went to sleep in the second, for most of it anyway.
I might be the only one that thinks this but if Martin Laursen can stay injury free I'd have Olof Mellberg at right back ahead of Hughes and Delaney every day of the week.
Not long into the game he played a sublime ball into the box for Petrov and I thought it was a goal, but it wasn't.
Mellberg is a great defender and Laursen and Ridgewell are doing so well in the middle it's got to be difficult for Mr O'Neill to drop any of them even when the two right backs are fit again.
I'm probably the only one that's going to say this also but Steven Davis needs a break. He hasn't looked like the player we know he can be for some time.
It could be due to number of games, it could be due to the new way the team is playing or it could be too much of the money. As soon as Bouma is match fit I expect Barry to move up and Davis to take a seat on the bench.
Another thing I noticed about the match today, in the first half everyone was wearing a black armband (or black tape anyway), in the second they were gone; what's that about?
Petrov tired in the second half and Barry needs to leave left back. Baros came on for Moore but didn't get long enough. It was a point but, like I suggested, we should have had all three.
Overall, Villa should have got the three points because it was only Watford. I mean no disrespect to Watford but it's only Watford. We had far too many offsides and some were not. If a linesman isn't 100% sure and how can you be if it wasn't, he shouldn't raise his flag.
When Watford come to Villa Park and when we finally get to play another game at Villa Park, next weekend against Charlton, I expect three points and a rapturous welcome for Randy Lerner.
I'll be at Villa Park, not in the nice seats I was expecting or having the dodgy lunch you get when you book with Business Villa, because they messed me about, so I have to sit with the rest of you. Don't worry, I know it will be more fun but I wanted to treat myself.
But as a little warning to anyone thinking of doing business with 'Business Villa', be careful. The Aston Villa Blog were planning a day out with some nice seats and lunch at Charlton but Business Villa were an absolute joke; talking to one of them reminded me of listening to David O'Leary, it was so surprising.
If you're serious about business, don't call Business Villa, but more on this next week when I reveal all. Up the Villa, Martin O'Neill and all things Aston Villa Football Club.
