If the speculation is believed Martin O'Neill is wasting no time in putting together a list of players he wants to see in claret and blue this season.
Top of the list is his former player at Celtic, Stilian Petrov. It is believed Petrov would welcome the chance to play in the Premiership and if O'Neill came knocking he wouldn't hesitate.
Newcastle target and former Everton player Thomas Gravesen is also believed to be on the list. Gravesen is no longer welcome in Spain after a training ground fight last week and it is thought he would welcome the opportunity to work with O'Neill.
Last on the list is thought to be 25 year old Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves. Hargreaves wants Premiership football but wants the right team. Cold Aston Villa be seen as the right team now Martin O'Neill is in control? I think so.
These are the types of player we need to move forward. Each one of these would add something to the team and not knocking Smiler McCann here but he's not up to it and I don't think he really ever was.
Lastly today, someone has emailed in saying that David O'Leary is up for the managers job at Millwall. I'm not sure how true this is but I doubt it.
O'Leary is and always will be a useless manager. He'll only ever go to a club that can afford to pay him a salary for doing nothing. I have no doubt he'll end up with someone but I also suspect he'll get them relegated in his first season.
