If the price is right Barry can go to Spurs

If you're 25 years old and you've got a choice between Spurs and Portsmouth you're only going to pick the Londoners so let's assume Spurs spend some of the Carrick money on Barry; as long as they spend enough you don't mind that he's going, according to our poll from yesterday.

The amazing thing I read yesterday was that Villa were likely to accept an offer of ?5.5mn for the versatile midfielder but if Carrick is worth ?18mn. surely Barry is worth more?

Barry and Carrick are both at the same stage of their career having both played for England a handful of times and both looking ready to either take the step up or sit in obscurity picking up ?35k a week for the next seven years.

Carrick is taking the step up and if the interest from Spurs is real Barry could well be taking the step but I'm not convinced it will be in the right direction despite my admiration for Martin Jol.
