Aston Villa plc share price spikes on news of American interest

Over the weekend Michelle Neville 'reignited' his interest in Aston Villa plc when he 'believed' he had the backers to make a bid. The market didn't believe him as the Aston Villa share price moved a little over 3%.

When speculation started yesterday that Randy Lerner was interested we saw what they call in the City 'a spike'. The price moved from below ?4.00 a share to over ?4.60.

According to Sky Sports today Lerner is about to make an offer thought to be around ?60mn to ?65mn.

If Ellis sells to Lerner he'll never be thanked even though he could have sold to the Comer Brothers which was clearly not right for the club.

Again, it's all speculation but let's wait and see what happens.
