bet365.com have released odds on the next Aston Villa manager and top of the list is Alan Curbishley at even money but we believe Martin O'Neill was approached earlier today so are putting our money on the Irishman.

According to some reports Doug Ellis has approached Charlton about Curbs, which we also think a little confusing as he no longer works for them but it was only a report.

A surprise name on the list at 8/1 is Gordon Cowans. I'm 100% convinced he'd be welcomed with open arms but personally, I'd rather see him work with or under another manager for a little longer, maybe Kevin MacDonald, who you can get on at 20/1.

Our favourite for the job would be O'Neill. He knows how to get the best out of his players, they'd be no messing about and as a player and manager he knows how to win things.

Come on Doug, do the necessary and do everything you have to do to get Martin O'Neill to Villa Park.
