The Express & Star have alledged that Doug Ellis wants ?12m, not the ?8m offered by Hamburg, for Milan Baros.

And I say fair play. He's a good player and if we're gonna let him leave it needs to be for a substantial profit and must leave is in a position to find a replacement.

We need a replacement because Kevin Phillips can't last a whole season and JPA simply isn't good enough.

I'd like Baros to stay, but there are good strikers available for around ?7m and if we can ship Baros out for ?12m and buy a decent replacement, say Robbie Keane, we could have a nice bit of money left in the kitty.

However, whether anyone will pay ?12m for Baros is yet to be seen.

Had he played in the World Cup and put in some good performances it would've been no problem I feel, but his injury could've cost us the deal I think the club were always looking for.
