Aston Villa plc are to sell off the land and buildings known as the Serpentine car park, only used on match days for ?7.31mn if on July 10th the shareholders approve the sale.
The offer is from Birmingham Community Sports Limited and they'll not be many people saying this is a bad idea. Hopefully some of the funds will be used to get rid of David O'Leary and bring in Martin O'Neill.
Although the club are going to get over ?7mn it's believed the land had a higher figure attributed to it on the balance sheet which will mean a considerable reduction in assets when Aston Villa release the accounts for the end of the current financial year which started on June 1st.
At the meeting on July 10th no other matter will be discussed, so don't go along thinging you can get answers to anything else. The sale will be approved if a simple majority of the shares voted in person at the meeting, or by proxy, are voted in favour of it.
