Okay, we don't make the decisions and if we were talking to O'Leary he'd say he sees him in training, but most of us would prefer to see Berson in midfield than current incumbent Smiler McCann.
We ran a quick question poll yesterday giving you the choice and 57.5% of you opted for Berson, while only 11% voted for the man McCann.
While we agree what happens in training is important we don't think Berson was purchased, sorry, chased across the South of France for an entire summer because of what O'Leary had seen or heard of him in training. He was purchased because of his performances on the pitch.
So why was he never given a proper run in the team?
O'Leary clearly cocked up the Crouch situation so for the 11% of you that voted for Smiler, why do you think he's not cocked this one up also?

We know deep down Ranieri isn't coming to Villa but the rumour started by Sky Sports allowed us to indulge ourselves in another form of O'Leary bashing; the quick question.
We asked yesterday if you'd have Claudio Ranieri over David O'Leary and 84.5% of you said yes without a second thought. David O'Leary voted six times for 'No thanks: O'Leary needs more time and is clearly a football mastermind' but that only counted for 4.7% of the vote.
The funny thing is 5% of votes for every answer inside a poll are usually worthless so maybe even the people wasting our time have given up on O'Leary.
For today, we've put a quick question up to the right about our favourite 'midfield general', Smiler McCann. I've said since day one that he was a useless waste of space and I got slated for it but I think most would now agree him and O'Leary have to go, but with the news that Berson may be back for pre-season training who would you have in midfield. |

We asked if you wanted Danny Mills at Aston Villa and apart from the 11 Manchester City fans that voted 'Absolutely: At all costs' we had a good turn out.
Of the four options the one picked the most by the Aston Villa fans was 'If he comes on the cheap, doesn't expect monster wages or a four year contract' which got 62% of the vote.

Doug Ellis should fire David O'Leary for lots of reasons but the one that is likely to help Doug wield his axe is the news that two thirds of supporters won't renew their season tickets if O'Leary is still in charge next season and most of you would like Martin O'Neill to take his place.
We've been running a quick question the last few days on your choice for next Villa manager and over 65% of you voted for Martin O'Neill ahead of Curbishley Cowans or MacDonald, Souness or anyone else. |

David O'Leary has had his three seasons. He has had more money to spend than most and he's had more opportunities than any manager under Doug Ellis to improve the football. The overwhelming desire to see David O'Leary gone is at it's peak.
We ran a poll earlier this week asking regardless of results from the remaining games should O'Leary be sacked and 61.7% said yes.

We've been running a poll the last few days titled 'Do you want to see more banners at Villa Park this season demanding Ellis sack O'Leary?' and the results are in.
The vast majority of you voted that the banners should stay up until he has gone with only 16.6% saying no they shouldn't be up. It contradicts what O'Leary said about only a couple of people wanting him gone and it should also be a message for anyone thinking of taking a banner to the match this Sunday.

We've been running a poll asking if you'd like to see Villa legend Paul Merson at Aston Villa in some type of coaching role and the overwhelming response is an emphatic yes.
Merson spoke last week of O'Leary's position as manager of Aston Villa and how he expects more of the squad when compared to teams like Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan.

We ran a poll after the Everton game titled Should Gabriel Agbonlahor be given a run in the team and the vast majority not only think he should be but also that he should start.
Only 5.5% of you that voted thought he shouldn't be given a run while 67.1% voted yes and the remaining 27.4% thought he should at least be starting on the bench.

We have been running a poll the past few days about Lee Hendrie and should he be making the starting 11 or not.
Only 11.7% of you think he's not good enough and we have a sneaky suspicion that was David O'Leary coming back every day to cast another vote.
59.7% of you think he should be in the starting 11 and the remaining 28.6% think he should at least be starting on the bench.
As many of you may know I'm not his biggest fan but that is mainly for what he does off the pitch and sometimes on it which isn't directly related to the football he can play. Personally I think he's better for Villa than Smiler McCann and it would also be interesting to see him play alongside Davis or Bakke for the next couple of games. |

We ran a quick question yesterday titled Your central midfield partnership? and the results are not going to surprise you as you've probably read the title of this article but they did surprise me the very first time I looked at them. There are so many people that think Smiler McCann is a great player I expected him to beat Hendrie hands down but I was wrong, again. With 39.2% of the vote Steven Davis and Lee Hendrie won. |
