It's in The Sun and they have quotes from Barry's agent Alex Black. Gareth Barry wants to leave Aston Villa and this isn't a surprise.
Liverpool have spoken to Barry or most likely Alex Black a long time ago. Rafa even commented that Barry wanted to leave, so this really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. |

We all knew this and this isn't having a dig at the club for telling Bill Howell before telling us and I'm not going to go over old ground about us only doing this only because we couldn't find a sponsor.
This deal with Acorns, regardless of the circumstance, will be good for the charity and ultimately it's going to be good for Aston Villa, although the focus really should be Acorns. |

This annoyed me when I saw it and I'm disappointed that Gerrard has come and said he wants Gareth Barry to join him at Liverpool.
I think this sort of public coaxing from a close friend is probably going to be the turning point in him staying or deciding to leave.

I can understand if Randy Lerner doesn't want to talk to us, other Aston Villa websites or the press in general. I don't like it and also think to some extent he should, but it's his choice.
But, when he does speak or email the media, he really should confirm what everyone else has said about him first and I suppose it could be one of the reasons why he doesn't communicate very often; fear of contradiction. |

While I was sat eating my lunch and watching Sky Sports News I was chuffed to hear Paul Merson saying how Villa need to go for Thierry Henry.
I sat there dreaming of his silky skills alongside Young and Agbonlahor and thought that is the way forward. And then I stopped dreaming and realised the reality of Henry actually leaving Barcelona for Villa.

As Matt mentioned yesterday, it looked like Luke Moore was about to seal his move to WBA.
The club have announced this morning that the deal has gone through, although they haven't specified a fee. Sky Sports claim it is £3m upfront, but don't specify what the fee could rise to, which isn't bad going for someone with a return of 14 goals in 87 games.

Stuart James at The Guardian tells us that Randy Lerner will be taking a more active role in the club from next season - even moving to the Midlands to conduct his business.
Now, I'm not one for getting easily blinded or believing the hype, but the man has said very little to us and while everything that has happened at the club 'is nice', I'd far prefer see some significant investment made in the playing side of things, before I start believing the spin and bluster. |

It's thought, as the club haven't confirmed or denied the rumours, that were quite keen on FC Charleroi striker Mouhamadou Habib Habibou.
Habibwho I hear you cry? Well, he's a 21-year-old French-passport holding African who plys his trade in the Belgian Jupiter League with Charleroi.

With the exception of the last two play-offs, one of which finished earlier, there is nothing else happening football-wise. There are the few rumours kicking around, but not much else.
But luckiy, there's been a "myriad" of news on rainy, dull, boring Sunday.

Having only joined in December last year, our CEO - the man who helped Wembley's cost over-run by £75m - Michael Cunnah, has left the club.
He was replacement for Richard FitzGerald, who only joined a year earlier.
