Typical villa this is, just typical villa. Forget about it. Dont think I'm gonna follow football for the rest of the season its always far too disappointing. Losing to a Sunderland team that hasn't won away from home all season. Superb lads. - JohnnyF

couldnt agree more bone. cudicini is def worth a shout!!!
our transfer policy is a joke - need someone in to overseas matters.
dont worry though i am sure oneil has identified who he wants, just he is so indecisive by the time he puts a bid in we'll all be dead - sasa

Robinson's better than Carson!!! But I'd prefer a foreigner - how about a cheeky bid for Cudicini?

We do need to sort out our transfer policy though, not looking forward to a Beattie-Harewood partnership next season. - tonebone

Confidence is a big part of goal keeping, a couple of years ago all of us would have happily had Robinson, and I am sure his for will return as it did for David James. Scott Carson will also be a good goal keeper given time, we could do with someone with a little more experience, Brad Friedel type keeper that commands his defense and can deal wit crosses. - Jimmy Villain

Realistically, who is actually classed as a safe keeper in England? James was "calamity" not long ago and now he's the best we have, Carson makes mistakes and that applies to Robinson, Green and Kirkland. Foster's an unknown quantity as such so where do you get a decent keeper in England? I'd have a look at Amelia of Livorno if I were MON.. - Mick70

As a manager in any field you employ those you can manage. MON is good with English talent that needs their self-belief enhanced. He's not comfortable with young talented spanish/french etc players. Other managers have their strengths with players from abroad. It's time to accept who our manager is, what he is good at and the fact that he has provided us with success.
There is obviously more to come. Once we make Europe we'll no longer be getting English cast offs, we'll be poaching their young English talent. - nan was a fan

yeah does he not realise england are very bad as an international side so buying english players really isnt going to take us that far.
especially cast offas from other clubs we are competing with. there is a reason these clubs want rid.
It wont surprise if it happens because we are that inept in the transfer market - sasa

He's not so why should be accept him?

Just because your plans got cancelled doesn't mean you can get sloppy Damian :) - Arrlui

How about MON scouting the south american league's? or for that matter the rest of the world, why always English? We're not even in the euros. - taglor

I think James is an exception to the rule. Usually once the confidence goes as a keeper, especially for a long period, they are no longer capable of shining in top level football. - nan was a fan

I don't think you become a bad player overnight,Paul Robinson has had a bad 12 months, but i recall David James having a similar bad spell, and he's probably the best prem keeper at the moment!
Carson's not good enough,Robinson with his confidence restored could be a shrewd signing if the price is right! - Naldy

not good enough for utd, chelsea, or arsenal??? not better than hilario, lehmann, almunia, or any of the others that they have tried with and found wanting? even cech has spilled some howlers (against us for a start), and van der sar is far from perfect. that fluke against croatia set him down a path of tough critisism which has effected his game,,, but he'll return stronger and is more likely to win a game than carson. - word
