Ian Taylor........what can one say??one of the best midfielders that has ever bestrode Villa Park in my 48 years of following Villa.......Of the modern day ones the only one who comes near him is Des Bremner. Both totally overlooked by their national teams but fantastic servants for their club....Brian Little's best buy..??? I think so....I think I will get a dvd done of his career including his goal against Atletico Madrid but NOT omitting his tackle on Christian Vieri......He walks in to any XI that could be compiled on modern day Aston Villa teams......... - Dave Hunter

I've met the guy 4 times in the Holte End, and he's a complete legend. Loves to talk during the game though, but it's better than listening to a 60 yr old bloke giving Carew tips ;) Poor sod.

I recommend searching for him in the stands. He's a laugh. - Dizzy Mugs

ONE IAN TAYLOR

What a great read, Ian Taylor is and always will be a Villa legend.
He has done what every Villa fan dreams of doing, but with such reserve. Never has a player been so underrated as Ian, and he gave his all in every game he played. It is nice to see him and his sons at Villa park and I hope he has a great future outside the game at what ever he chooses to do.

Great article - Taylor bled for our club and in terms of box to box goalscoring hard-tackling midfielders he is up there amoung the best in the late 90s, under-rated! - Jacko33
