Obviously it's a shame to see someone like him leave, but you cant blame him if he wants Champions League football. After all the services he's given to this club, maybe it is simply time for him to move on anyway. He would be welcomed back, though he's pretty old now and would probably not be good enough in a few years... but who knows? He may even take up a coaching role. His experience would be great for upcoming youngsters. I agree with the board comment too. It doesn't really rule the move out, but it does keep the Porto fans on his side if it doesn't happen. And its always nice to have a board that know what they're doing. Shame about Mellberg and the José Bosingwa thing is inconclusive, he never said no to a bid from an English club, just said he doesn't fancy it.
