I too remember watching Charlie play many times. Particularly memorable were the lofted curling passes down the left wing, ocassionally goingout of play. It is also worth remembering how often Charlie moved up front. I think he might well have started a number of games as a makeshift inside forward in the late 1960s when the team found scoring difficult! He did have chances to play for more successful teams but always remained with the Villa.
